N64 deserves more credit than it gets...

Well, just glancing at the list of games:
I never played any of the Final Fantasy games, but I can't complain about them.
Spyro is cool. Parapa the Rapper stands out, but I can't really place what it was.
PS1 was a solid system overall. I love the N64 because it's what I had, but I'm not downplaying the Playstation (Sega Saturn I'll criticize because I didn't even know it existed between the Genesis and the Dreamcast and this was the height of when I cared about video games).

I don't want to give the impression that I really hated the PS1, I just don't feel it deserved the unwavering praise the console and it's games got.
The three Final Fantasy games are still great, as is Metal Gear Solid, but given a choice, I'd pick the N64 because imo it's exclusive games have stood the test of time more so than many of the games mentioned above.
I'm not going to list all those games here, but there are a lot of them, and I would gladly still play them next to the current generation of games.

I bought a Voodoo card specifically so I could emulate the N64 on my PC, years ago. I can't imagine doing something like that to emulate a PlayStation. I suppose that speaks for itself!
Loved the N64. I remember buying one when they first came out, and the main reason I bought one was because I knew of the Star Wars game being released for it. I still love Mario 64, but find the game extremely easy these days. I do love how you can get a lot of the stars in the courses in any order you want. I have the game in my memory for life, I was helping my son gather stars awhile back and the ones I thought were difficult to get weren't all that bad after all. Then again, after playing Mario Sunshine, anything seems easy.
Loved SOTE, and thought Rogue Squadron was just brilliant - eventually got that one for PC as well. I loved the two Zelda games, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. I liked Mario Kart, Doom 64, and Star Fox 64 too. Still play Star Fox from time to time.

I definitely don't agree with that assesment. I will agree than MOST Playstation games were fairly lame, but the library was just so huge that the list of good games rivals if not exceeds the number of good games for the N64, and because of the media used - CDs instead of cartridges - the games could be a lot larger and packed with more content, making for a deeper and more immersive experience.
N64 had some great games and awesome graphics, straight up. I have an emulator myself. All in all, though, I think the Playstation was the superior console.
I think my N64 is still in good working order. Don't have many games - 15-20 perhaps and mostly good ones. One or two absolute duffers.

I had a couple of third party controllers... and never again. I don't care if they light up or are wireless or cook me breakfast... they all break.
I got 2 gamecube 3rd party ones for my Wii they are excellent but normally yeh I would stick to official ones.
More like 1:10. PS1 had some great titles but, you had to know what you were buying with that console. Otherwise, you'd end up with some real shit.
Did your cousin have Radiant Silvergun? I hear a lot of great things about that game.

I still play it from time to time. I have both the Wii version and 64. Both are good, but the 64 version is my favorite
Mine too. Only one I don't care for is Double Dash.
Double Dash blows... and is nearly impossible at times.
I wasn't a huge GameCube gamer at all, but I did prefer Double Dash to MarioKart Wii.
My friends and I loved Mario Kart 64. That got maybe more play than even GoldenEye. Wario Stadium was the best -- waiting until carts were making the jump to lightning them, and before the last turn if you timed it just right you could jump over the wall instead of taking the turn.

I never understood why Luxoflux's Vigilante 8 never took off. It was way better than Interstate 76 or Twisted Metal. I found Twisted Metal unplayable, and yet that seemed more popluar. The cars, weapons, characters and story in Vigilante 8 and 2nd Offense were unmatched. Unfortunately I only have my old PS2 now and it isn't the same on that system. The N64 version seemed far superior. Awesome special weapons too, with the characters' signature taunts. "BASS QUAKE!" "SWARM!" "LIGHTNIN'!" "TAMTRUM!" "BURN!"
