I definitely don't agree with that assesment. I will agree than MOST Playstation games were fairly lame, but the library was just so huge that the list of good games rivals if not exceeds the number of good games for the N64, and because of the media used - CDs instead of cartridges - the games could be a lot larger and packed with more content, making for a deeper and more immersive experience.Am I the only one that thinks 95% of the lame PS1 games listed are crap? 20 years from now very very few of those will be spoken about when everyone will know several N64 games.
Yeah, third party controllers are pretty much shit for any system. It's always worth paying extra for the official ones.
I noticed some people complaining about the N64's game library, but can anybody really name, say, ten PS1 exclusives that they still play today versus ten N64 games? I think the N64 would win!
The PS1 may have had more games, but the ratio of good to bad games was something like 1:5.
Enix made a REALY good(and sadly under-rated) game for the 64 called Mischief Makers, a 2-d sidescroller with 3D elements. one of the most visually stunning 64 games ever made, and this was BEFORE DK64 and the expansion pak, and someone mentiond the Saturn, my cousin has a Japanese one and a ton of import games, ALOT of the realy good (and good looking) games never made it to this side, like Super Dimensional Fortress Macross and Voltage Fighter: Gowkaizer
Mario Kart as well, I believe... maybe not straight away... can't quite remember.
I always found Mario Kart 64 to be pretty poor. The courses are too long and boring, and it just isnt as fun to play as the snes version or the wii one.
I bought a Voodoo card specifically so I could emulate the N64 on my PC, years ago. I can't imagine doing something like that to emulate a PlayStation. I suppose that speaks for itself!
Heresy!Mario Kart as well, I believe... maybe not straight away... can't quite remember.

I still play it from time to time. I have both the Wii version and 64. Both are good, but the 64 version is my favorite
