nothin like irradiated chips, yummmmmm

Eh, you can't taste "irradiation."

I wonder why they didn't also irradiate the dips so they didn't have to eat the nasty gellitan stuff.

(I also wonder how "bacteria ridden" chips are, again chips having a lot of salt on them, making them pretty undesirable to bacteria.)

I'm not sure what the conditions were but I slipped really good on a banana peel once. I didn't fall on my ass but my leg shot right out from under me (forward actually) to the point where I definitely thought to myself, "Ah, so that is true about banana peels!".

it was funny and cute but medicore otherwise....but atleast it's an improvement from the Alaska episode....

um, i was eating when they used the "birthing agent" ugh, grooooossssssss

Don't feel bad, I was eating when they were spitting the agar back into the bowls. "Oh, thank you, Double-Oh-Seven!":vulcan:

As for the "sterility" of the original dip and salsa...hardly surprising. The dip that Jamie was eating probably had a sour cream component. Sour cream is made from lactobacillis bulgaricas. The salsa, OTOH, is a little more surprising, given the probably higher acid content...

I think the static friction test was flawed a little. With the banana the shoe was not in contact with the tilting surface at all, it was completely supported by the banana peel. With the birthing agent the shoe was in contact with the tilting surface. I think if the layer of birthing agent was thicker so as to fully support the shoe like the banana peel did you would have seen the static test go to the birthing agent like in the kinetic test.

I thought the Alaska-2 episode was pretty good, mostly because I like seeing cars get wrecked.

But in this one I think that the diamond stuff was just a complete waste of time. I mean, if you think that you can make diamonds out of charcoal briquettes, peanutbutter and a microwave then there's just no help for you.

An Average from me. For the record:

Banana Peel Slip - Busted (with conditions). Adam and Jamie's testing showed that a banana peel on the ground is not guaranteed to make a person slip and other substances (specifically an animal birthing agent) are more slippery. They did show, however, that banana peel does increase the chance of slipping.

Pressure Cooker Diamonds - Busted. Tory attempted to recreate a scene from CSI: Miami where diamonds were created using graphite, ferric nitrate and other chemicals along with a small diamond in a pressure cooker to create a larger one. It did not work at all.

Peanut Butter Diamonds - Busted. Kari's attempt to create diamonds using peanut butter, charcoal and a microwave resulted in the destruction of two microwaves and no diamonds.

Hydrochloric Acid Diamonds - Busted. Rapidly cooling a mix of molten graphite and iron and then soaking it in hydrochloric acid produced no diamonds.

Explosive Diamonds - Confirmed. Using 5,000 pounds of explosives it was possible to turn graphite in to low quality, industrial grade diamonds. It was also possible to recreate this using a smaller explosion.

Double Dipping - Busted. After testing, it was found that the amount of bacteria in some salsa after double dipping was not significantly increased, certainly not to the point where there would be additional danger to humans.
