Mythbusters 12/15: Green Hornet Special

I almost didn't watch this episode just because I cannot stand Seth Rogan. But I watched it anyway and managed to enjoyed it - though Rogan was every bit as annoying and obnoxious as I thought he would be. I just hope that this sellout isn't indicative of a future trend for the series.

I think it's indicative of the established success of the show. People want to get on Mythbusters to call attention to their message, whether it's the President talking about science education or the makers of Storm Chasers or The Green Hornet trying to promote their productions. John Stewart and Stephen Colbert had Adam and Jamie participate in their March to Restore Sanity and/or Fear recently, and I think they were on stage for longer than just about any other single segment of the program. They're a big deal. Have been for a while. So a future trend? I see it more as an ongoing trend.

I don't mind tie-ins like this where they're very upfront about
it. I prefer that to (un)subtle product placement and the like.

Of course, the Green Hornet has special missiles of "Hornetium" so the bulldozer thing might have worked. :)

An explosive that somehow changes the laws of physics so that it doesn't propagate most of its force through a convenient air pocket? I don't think so. Explosive formulae change, but physical law is constant.

You just underestimate the power of Hornetium, it's made with ancient Asian compounds.

Ancient Chinese secret, huh?

Would these be the same compounds that sent the Ming Dynasty astronaut into space -- or, rather, into pieces?

Though apart from some manufacture logos on the various computers Mythbusters has generally avoided product placement except where they credit those who've helped them out with various builds.

Actually, an episode dedicated to movie and TV "super cars" would be interesting. Off the top of my head I can think of several Bond cars, KITT, the various Batmobiles...that pink thing in Thunderbirds...
IIRC a few of them have been covered but I think there's plenty of fun stuff to expand on.

I agree! Just pick a set of iconic tv and comic cars and make it a month long special! Think about it! It could range from all of the versions of the batmobile, to the Arrested development stair car! haha no limits!
