They usually do their myths months before they air the episodes. So they should have plenty of episodes in the can to do.

But it still costs money to do them, and to edit them into episodes. Recycling old material lets them save money and time, and thereby make up for any budget overruns they may have incurred.

I agree. I love behind-the-scenes stuff. It's interesting to hear them reveal these anecdotes about their past experiences on the show.

Plus it's nice to see the occasional glimpse of Scottie in the old clips. She was cool.

Agreed. I'm a big Man vs Wild fan as well, but his clip shows are usually a waste of time, with nothing but the same old footage we've seen before.

At least with these shows we're learning some cool new things about the process.

Yeah, they're kind of like bonus features on a DVD which I absolutely love.
