Hi, picked this object up recently but haven't a clue as to what it is. I thought a razor. Any ideas please.

Where and how you got it might help identify it. Is it a prop? A toy? Does it do anything?

For some reason, I keep thinking it is the "arm" that comes up out of a base to hold a ship model up. I've got nothing to back that up, though, and my Google-fu has failed so far.

it reminds me very strongly of these pan and saucepan handles you can take off. The angle and curve is precisely the same.
Camping and trekking (no pun intended) cookware often have that kind of handle.
Here's an example made of plastic:

Hi, thank you for your interest.
The object is four and one half inches long by one inch.
Made by HOYO Foundry inc.

which will propably save the world from a blood orgy. With such a stiff razor you can hardly avoid cutting yourself. I much prefer the ordinary kind with the jointed head.

Btw, isn't it interesting that in all Trek there's only one shaving scene (Insurrection) and there they use a shaving-knife that's old-fashioned even by 21st century standards? One should think in the future they'd have something more modern.

Actually, there was another scene where La Forge is shaving with a funky glowy thing and Data asks him why he isn't using the one Data adjusted to 100% efficiency. And La Forge responds that things can be TOO efficient.

I'll try to find the episode...

ETA: It was in Code of Honor.

And we see Malcolm shaving in Shuttlepod One. And we saw Tuvok cut himself shaving in Year of Hell, and we also saw Sisko shaving his head at least once in DS9.
