Myriad Universes - The FanFiction Way

With the impending release of TrekLit's Myriad Universes, I thought it might be interesting if we came up with our own stories.

I'm writing one today and will post it in this thread in its entirety instead of in sections upon completion. I have no idea of the word count yet but I will try and write it all today.

Alternate takes on known event - a What if?

For example the Book series is going to look at things like "What if Khan won the Eugenics wars?" or "What if Bajor was never liberated?"

I think they'll be really interesting.

From a Fan Fiction point of view I'll be doing something similar with Argus' "Dimension Jump" four part story and then with a New Series next year (once the level of changes on the older Argus stories decreeses).

It appears to be taking longer than expected to write this. I will post when it is complete, but unfortunately, I can't say when that will be. It is more involved than I initially proected. Which is good I suppose.

I've been tinkering with my own MyU story - centered around the "Yesterday's Enterprise" timeline. What was initially a simple tale of the battle at Archer IV (as mentioned in that episode) has become a highly complex and political story covering pretty much the entire alternate history up until the events of "Yesterday's Enterprise". If I made a concerted effort, and devoted all my time to it, it might be finished in a few months...

I could see a refit U.S.S. Saratoga in a screwed-up "infected Borg" universe as described above. The same sort of refit, bristling with sensors & weapons, from "All Good Things".

I've been looking at the plot for my MyrU story and I realised that to do it justice I can't do the story in a small word count. What I will do is write it, and then post a link to it in this thread, as captcalhoun has done. I may also create a website for all such stories and then get you to contribute, but this is early stages considering I've got so much other stuff on the go at the moment.
