My Wierd Debt Collector Incident

I worry about my mom, she has this huge unpaid debt due to some medical tests a few years ago that she was told by the hospital she would get a discount on. She only took the tests b/c she thought with the discount she could afford them. Well she must have misunderstood or they scammed her b/c although they did give her a discount, it was so minimal that she wasnt able to pay the whole thing. She's been hounded by the collectors since, avoids their phone calls, she even got a letter from the agency & still refuses to pay.
