My very first Star Trek action figure!!!

K-Star

So, I went to Slackers about an hour ago to buy a copy of Final Fantasy IV for the DS, and I saw that they had Voyager action figures from 1995 (that's what the copyright date said on the package). They had Janeway, Kes, and the EMH. I bought the EMH cuz he's my second favorite character out of all the series (I thought about getting Janeway cuz she's my favorite Captain but I decided against it. Though I guess if she's still there later on and y'all really think I should get her I might.) For some reason, the EMH cost more than Janeway and Kes (he was $19.99, the others were $11.99).

So yeah, pics!

Boxed:

Hardcore Trekkies Everywhere: *gasp* BLASPHEMY!!!!
Me: Oh shut up. Everyone knows action figures are more fun out of the box! Don't plan on selling it anyway.

Displayed next to all my other "collectibles":
(Season 6 and 7 of TNG are currently next to my DVD player. Otherwise they'd be in this pic.)

And because I thought this would be epic:

Also, the card that came with it:

For some reason, it looked (and felt) like some dust or something had gotten inside the box. There was some white powdery residue on one of his legs and on the computer item. The box also wasn't entirely sealed (a small gap at the bottom.) My guess is maybe the store bought this from another person who had done his very best to put the box back together? If so, they did a damn good job of it, but it was VERY easy for me to open. Then again, that might just be 13+ years of aging. Wait, was it REALLY that long ago? ...Yeah, I guess I was 7 years old when Voyager started (6 when TNG ended).

Now all I need is a Data action figure. I told the store to let me know if they ever got any TNG figures and they put me on the lookout list.

So yeah. I'm totally a nerd now if I wasn't before.

Not the greatest price deal ya got there, but hey at least it went to a deserving fan :) The white stuff is sometimes a byproduct of the plastic or something as it ages. I've got some vintage Star Wars that sort of have a white stuff on the legs.

Yeah scary to think how old that toy is now. I picked up a TNG Troi and Crusher and it was kinda amusing to think how old they are.

Nah. The white stuff is cocaine residue from the snow that was packed into the shipping containers, with the action figures. The action figures were actually never intended to be sold (which is why they are still around), but were just camoflage for the stash.

Explains everything.

I remember my first Trek action figures. I had all the Mego figures and the related playsets when I was a kid in the middle 70's.

I miss them...

Back when those figures were coming out, I went to a con where Ethan Phillips was one of the guests. Someone asked him "How do you like being an action figure now?"
Phillips: It feels wonderful! I can finally play with myself in public.

I'm digging the Pokemon you got there ;)

I have an old collection collecting dust right now. If they had more TNG action figures, it would be awesome, although, out of all the VOY figures, I'd probably pick up the Doctor as well.

I am pretty sure I have all of those but havent looked at them in ages. Time to drag out the old tubs of Trek and take a look.

For some reason, after reading the title I was expecting it to be a Data figure. I don't know why... ;)

I found a Dr. Crusher figure from Generations at a garage sale for only $3. Now I want Janeway too!
