My Trek Through Enterprise

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

Here's something I've noticed, why does T'Pol always have to give Archer a little pat on the back every time he makes a tough decision? She's always saying something like "You did a good job. You could not have done anything else," or "That was very difficult, but you made the right choice." Can't he just make a decision without her nursing him over it every time?

In Season 3 she ties his shoes for him.

She really does one episode. Treating Archer in full mother mode!

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

I found the stories for "The Expanse" and "The Xindi" too have been better in the novelization (which was just called "The Expanse").

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

I haven't read it, but I'm sure it is. It's no great statement to say a novelization is better than the show/movie. Nearly all of them are.

Oh, wow. :)

Anomaly

I wonder why is it that these anomalies are happening to everything but the humans and Porthos on the ship. The ship itself is experiencing anomalies, and Phlox's animals, so I wonder what's up. The camera is jittery. This must be their "real" experience shooting. I think it's a little distracting. I'm getting a vibe that the prisoner is actually the captain of the opposing ship.

I always thought ANIS was the tease ;) Or does that not count 'cause it's imaginary?

Unless of course we are referring to DS9's pilot which worked better on the screen than it did in the book.

But with the Expanse novelization, when you compare it to the older novelizations like DS9's "Emissary" or Voyager's "Flashback", the "Expanse" was merely the script of the two episodes put together in novel form with very little backstory added, whereas the older novelizations tended too add a lot of back story. So in Enterprise's case I think that it was handled a lot better in the books, whether it be the novelizations or the actual novels printed between 2001 and 2005.

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

Me too.

But I don't mess with shippers, they can have their fun and I'll nod along as I can pretty much pair anyone with anyone if I set my mind to it.

^ Er...... :p

"Look, girl... this ain't workin' out."

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

I've actually written plenty of apologist pieces for 7/C which made a lot of sense to me, though the only ship I've ever personally sailed on was J/7.

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

Well at least I know you'll nod along to me liking Trip and T'Pol, lol.

Extinction

Well finally the away team is affected by something. For a second, I was getting the feeling that they were going to try to eat T'Pol. It's too bad what happened to that civilization in spite of their efforts, but turning people against their will, without their knowledge or consent, was wrong.

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

Oh I like those two (T and T) just fine :D

You don't even need subtext, LOL

Also, is that a Plox's toaster^?

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

:)

No, that's not his toaster. That's the (stasis?) container that Archer had Phlox put the vile full of the virus in at the end of the episode, so new the alien people wouldn't be completely extinct.

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

They should have given it to the Valakians. "Hey, here's that cure you wanted. *trollface*"

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

They should have left some to be ingested by whoever played Chef in any future holoprograms about their mission.

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

Archer should have used it on the Xindi. Or given it to Section 31. ;)

Re: My Trek Through Enterprise: Season One

This must be why it's in that super impenetrable Phlox container. The temptation to use it as the ultimate party trick on the unwitting would be too great.
