Started on the deflector array today...
I thought it was due to the shape of the kit pylons. I just built up the trailing edges of my pylons to level them out and mine have stayed up no problem.
The secondary hull and the pylons themselves are a piece of engineering all on their own. Maybe you could use 1/537 Refit saucer hull with that design for a torpedo free high speed cruiser...
OK, it's been driving me nuts! Why do you look familiar?
Who does this guy look like to y'all?
Well, after a few years of being busy I finally had the time to get back to this project.
I saw this thread, saw the first post and thought wow. Then I saw the original date, and figured some idiot posted in this thread asking for new stuff, which I hate.
Then I saw it has continued!! Woot! Awesome work, can't wait to see it finished.
^What he said. Can't wait to see more. Nice work!
I triple these two ^^
I'll post some more later this evening. I plan on ringing in my new year by continuing on this.
The greatest and EASIEST to keep New year resolution so far And Happy New year btw
Happy New Year to you! Thank you!
MY Federation Models components arrived today.
I received my NX-02 deflector dish, shuttlepods, and red bussard domes.
If anyone is on the fence about buying any of these items, don't hesitate.
I highly recommend them, and they're a great deal!
They sent you a calendar too!?!?
That's really neat.
I managed to get quite a bit done today,
- Skinned the port side nacelle pylon
- Created pylon under-lights (both sides)
- Added Starboard hull panel with windows and wired backlights
- Wired 2 of the 3 Nacelle circuits onto small (3/8" x 1 1/2") PCBs
- Bussard (3x 3mm red leds)
- Nacelle Coils (EL Wire)
Here it is from the port side
everything you see on this is built from scratch.
Also, a short vid showing the lights on and off..
Last one for the night...
That is really amazing, to see someone build a model like this from scratch.
That's looking very nice.
Thanks guys I'm really happy with how it's turning out, I've never tried the spotlights before, and I think it's really going to make the pylon details pop.
A little something..
