My Star Trek book popped up on Amazon.com as a pre-order! Sweet!

As some of you may remember I am authoring a new Star Trek Collectibles book that is due to be released sometime this fall.
It will feature most of the collectibles produced over the years based on the original series, a little on the animated series, and the first six and half movies .
Well, the other day I happened to be searching Amazon and decided to see what, if any, of the older Star Trek collectibles books they might still have listed.... and to my amazement my own book shows up as the very first listing in the search!

I thought that was pretty cool :)

I have had some people e-mailing asking if they can get a signed copy once the book becomes available. The publisher and I are currently talking about signed copies and how we can possibly do that with me signing them and then going into inventory to sell. This would be different obviously than a book signing where I would be personally there to sign copies on the spot as they were purchased.
I would of course sign for free any copies that any of you would purchase, I just don't know yet how that might work other than after you purchased the book you would then send me the copy to sign and then I would send it back.
Speaking of book signings, we are hoping to be at the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas in August with a large selection of books to do an autograph session with. This will be tricky due to the fact that the books won't be ready for shipment until late Sept
I guess right now it is a wait and see situation to see how well and how quickly the book comes together between now and when they can send the completed manuscript to the printers in China and then they can see if it's possible to get any copies printed quickly to get them to the Las Vegas convention.

We just noticed that on Amazon, Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc they are now displaying the book cover finally.

And for what it's worth, rather than mess with mailing and postage and all that stuff, we've offered to do bookplates (if that's the correct terminology) if people want. Some readers/collectors don't like them as much. As for me, I don't mind and I have a few signed copies with bookplates in my own collection. So, that's an option.
