Hi all. Best to get started posting my Star Trek art, which is CGI in Lightwave3d and I have being doing this for a good few years. I must admit I am more modeller than artist but a number of them have been well received by other fans. "nerves" My favourite era is TOS . there are times my skill does not match my ambition so a lot of trial and error Images hosted on my wordpress blog
Reading one of the threads on Star Trek Novels remembered I created this fan cover for Chain of Attack, perhaps my favourite along with Strangers from the Sky.
NICE work on the D7 and its Romulan variant. The only teeny tiny comment that I have is on the Romulan version: it looks a bit odd to see the head of the bird of prey chopped off and extended all the way to the bulb of the forward hull. Other than that, I got nothin… loves me some classic starships!
I have since regretted that decision. as it not a texture (my CGI failer) it all modelled, I will have to see if have the original files and correct if I can. But I know your name and seen your Star Trek work in the past, inspirational
One of my favourite images based on the cover of the book The Art of STAR TREK of the Enterprise firing at an Asteroid I rendered these images. The background is by Graham Gazzard aka GrahamTG, it was also my first time trying to create explosion effects in Photoshop (I no long have that prog alas) that have a little of the TOS vibe.
These images are fantastic, gmd3d! (The Art of Star Trek cover is one of my favourites, too) I think you've done a wonderful job with the phasers blasting through the asteroid
Always loved the cover of that book (and the book itself as well)! Out of curiosity, does anyone know if this might have been one of the first 3D renderings of the TOS Enterprise? Your take on it looks just awesome! That second shot where the phaser energy is blasting through the asteroid is very powerful.
Was the cover art from John Knoll/Mikido Uesegi used elsewhere before 1995? I seem to remember to have a model of the TOS Enterprise in 3DStudio back as early as 1994 so I think there would have been earlier 3D renderings out there before The Art of Star Trek. @gmd3d - Great recreation or homage of the cover.
Thank you both @blssdwlf & @Michael. I have tweaked these asteroid attack art a few times, I think these where the best. This was my last from 2017 I think, I don't have Photoshop anymore to try again, unless Gimp is able to do the same.
