My Question For Shat.

Cheapjack

Fleet Captain
Which I never asked, at London Film and Comic con, last weekend:

Will you copy Jimmy Doohan and have a kid at eighty?

So Jimmy Doohan having a kid at eighty is creepy, is it?

And wondering whether the dynamic shat can do them same, is too?

weird.

You're just jealous, cos you didn't think of it.

Let go of my hair.

Why would you really want to ask a question like that to anybody?

I've never been able to go to conventions or meet anybody famous, but the one thing I've found out from various news posts, articles etc is that you don't ask private personal questions. It's just weird. It might be okay to just ask how his family are doing in general, but to ask if he might have another kid at 80 just because Doohan did might be over stepping the line just a bit, imo.

No. Asking that question is.

Again, I can't see how. Jimmy Doohan was proud of it, why not Shat? Maybe he can't, that's what you're getting at? Personal, a little, creepy and weird, no. Shat did say about two years ago, on british TV, that he still had lust in his life. He's open about it.

I was also toying with the idea of asking him, when he did ST7 with Patrick Stewart, when he told Patrick that to avoid chafing when riding a horse, it is good to wear womens tights under your jeans. I wanted to ask him how, exactly, he found out about this?!!

I also toyed with the idea of asking what he thought of the theory that Kirk and Spock may have been lovers, and how close exactly he was to Leonard Nimoy!!

Also, what was Kirk's pain in ST5? Was it too painful? Was it too secret?

From what I can see of these question sessions, they ask the same questions over and over again.

Last question- he wouldn't know since he doesn't write the lines. But he might BS something.

The panties story might be interesting if it was true.

Asking someone if they were going to try have a kid after 80 is creepy and weird. Really, you don't ask people if they plan to have a kid after a certain age. It's not any of your business.

Well, since you don't seem to like the idea, much. But I can't see how it is creepy, or weird. He did say, on a British TV program, that he still had lust in his life at 75. Was that creepy? Charlie Chaplin had a kid at 80 and was onced asked about his 'testimonials' at a dinner party. I think he could handle it and could be self-deprecating and witty. Some people are open and honest about their virility. It wouldn't bother me. There was rivalry between Shatner and Doohan, this was a play on it. He might have just told me to get lost, or not answered. He might have told me I was rude, for asking, but I doubt he would have called me a creep. Maybe he would. I think he would have laughed. He did say he had lust in his life.

More opinions please, though I'm glad the mike couldn't reach me!

I bet someone asks him!

I bet someone asks him, though.

It's better than 'What's your favourite colour/"

It's only a bit of fun.

'Original' is the word.

'Thought provoking'

'Innovative'

'Cheeky'

'Funny'

Not 'weird'.

I bet someone asks him, or posts on his site.

'Personal' maybe.

He did once threaten to hit Brit interviewer, terry wogan, when asked about his 'gut', on TV, so maybe it wouldn't be good.

I think somebody needs to get a sense of humour.

:wtf:

I would also ask:

In TOS episode, 'The Deadly Years', Captain Kirk aged, but refused to accept the fact that he was getting older.

How do you compare that to the way you've dealt with aging??

Also;

If you could wave a magic wand and go back to the way you were in the 60's, would you? Or, are you happy with the way you are now?

There's a few others in the back of my head.

Also;

Do you miss DeForest Kelley??

Somebody ask these questions, or better ones, at the Las Vegas convention??

I might never see him again, and I bet he's sick of being asked what his favourite colour is!

Maybe not the Jimmy Doohan one.

Yikes, this Cheapjack is a bonafide troll. Someone please close this disturbing thread before he hurts himself. And I too, vote, weird.

What's weird about my questions?

I think I detect a little hint of jealousy, here.

Even if no-one asks him, they may stimulate a better question than;'What's you favourite colour?' !!

Feel free to ask me questions about my amazing life!

When you buy a car, do you get any silly comments from the salesman like "it can go to warp 5"? if so, do you just ignore him, Kirk style chop upside his head, zap him with a pretend phaser or sing to him?
