Howdy!
My problem with this movie is the story of all the major TOS characters meeting each other and coming together for a mission.
The problem is that the characters on the ship are of all different ages. Spock is not necessarily a young person, in universe he was already an adult when all the rest of the characters were born.
Mr. Scott and Bones are ten years older or so than Kirk, and Kirk is about 10 years older than Sulu and Chekhov. If Kirk is about 21 in the film, then Sulu and Chekhov would be children, while Bones and Scott would be middle aged men. Uhura is more or less between the ages of Kirk and Sulu, so Uhura would be in school when Kirk was commissioned.
Mr. Scott has stated that he served on many numerous vessels, Spock was an officer on Pike's ship and that McCoy had many other duties before the Enterprise.
When the Romulan High Council
steals the movie and puts it on the internet for all Earthers to see, I'll watch it. But the character development seems silly to me.
