I've been working on my own update of the Trek Encyclopedia for... god, the last three and a half years. It's been a massive project and life has gotten in the way from time to time.
Working from and expanding on the Okuda's masterpiece, and adding entries for DS9 season 7, Voyager seasons 5-7, Enterprise, and Nemesis, I'm now in the process of a final copyedit and adding images (creating new illustrations as needed). "A" through "G" and some of the Appendices are done; I'm working on "H" right now.
I've come up of a list of items to be added to the Encyclopedia for the 1.0 timeline from Trek XI (http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=91749&page=2 - post #38). My questions to you are:
- Did I miss anything? and
- Should Trek reality 2.0 have its own separate Encyclopedia with some amount of cross-referencing?
I don't mean for a separate publication to signify a lack of canon or of respect. Instead, Trek XI seems like such a clean break from the universe we know and love. I'd ultimately have the definitive guide to the reality of the first five series and ten movies, and a separate work for the exciting nu-worlds and nu-civilizations. Of course, that assumes a Trek XII and beyond.
Anyway, I'm open to suggestions. And if you want to see what I've developed so far, let me know.
