My office printer is sentient!

It has finally happened! The predictions are coming true. Machines are becoming self aware!

We've always had trouble with our office printer, but today it informed us it was "aware".

I needed to print 20 copies of a document that was double sided. I set up the printer in order to print both sides on one sheet of paper. It printed 15 copies with both sides on one sheet of paper then all of a sudden it "decided" to start printing the remaining five copies with both sides on two seperate sheets of paper. I was like "WHAT THE HECK?" How did it just decide to ignore my print order and do what it wanted!

I then had a vision of a red eye swinging back and forth so I slowly backed away from it and retreated to my desk.

I wonder if it has a plan that involves hot chicks with glowing spines? If so then I plan to give it access to our database!:guffaw:

For a while I ran the newspaper clipping service for a government department. Every day I would have to scan all the newspaper/magazine articles deemed to be in the department's scope. Generally that was 50-70 articles a day. I would then have to photocopy all articles about 30 times.
Sometimes the photocopier decided to be naughty. Once it decided to turn the 17th page in each run on 50 odd articles upside down. One other time it fish-eyed the centre of one page of each run.

My printer is probably sentient, but only enough to act stupid/annoying. It ignores the bluetooth connection it has with the computer occasionally and only print something it's been told to print the next day.
