My new site!

Here's my LCARS color chart:

http://lcars24.com/sh21.html

Maybe #FF9966 would work better in the margins, at least. Of course, my preference would be a black background with #FF9966 for text, as well. But anyway, maybe you'll find some colors you like on that chart. They're what are called Web-safe colors, which are supposed to be displayed reliably by all browsers.

The so-called "Web-safe" colors are outdated and should not be adhered to in today's age. They were meant back then for when people had graphics cards who could only display 256 colors; and even then a few of the colors that fell within that 256-color range couldn't be displayed properly due to certain spots being taken by the operating system and the browser.

Web-safe colors are a deprecated practice. The only advantage they have is that they can be written in CSS in a shortened way; for example #ff0066 can become #f06, but that's a very small advantage, especially seeing as modern browsers support the more natural rgb(255, 255, 255) and rgba(255, 255, 255, .5) schemes.

Not only that, but the chart you posted is very limited in colors.

This color wheel is a good way to pick out nice colors; pick one and you'll get the rest for free. You can even choose the color scheme you'd like (four-tone, complementary, clashing, triadic etc).

Nice.

You should add a link to your twitter account for your blog; i've found that it is a good way to get traffic.
