My New 'Crystal Skull' Scene

I have trouble believing that someone can be an amoral, double-crossing slime-ball AND be Indy's 'best-bud-sidekick' for many years. I can accept one or the other, but not both. The only way it makes sense is if something changed Mac in some way. Then I can make it jive in my mind.
I have friends like that. One in particular I have known for over 19 years now.

Chances are real good that Indy was aware of Mac's personality traits, but probably still stayed friends with him because he may be a forgiving personality to those who are close to him (such as Short Round who cheated him at cards. Heck, even Ilsa and Marion too if you really think about it...)

^ But, in some ways, he didn't really change as far as how he felt about Indy. He was still making comments and such like he and Indy were friends up until the very end. As for how can someone be your best friend for years then turn on you? Apparently you aren't in politics :)

No no, I can understand all this.

What I'm saying is, I just find it hard to believe he wasn't offered enough money to turn sometime in the past! Seems to me like you couldn't know someone like that for more than a few years.

This makes sense too. It solves the problem in the opposite way, but it works.
