My Mini City

Yay, thanks, Mallory!

I'll have to go back in this thread and make the rounds...

Made my rounds, and sent out a lot of police and pop. I also hit
Monstrociti. Man, that place is a MESS.

How the hell did they go from hopeless cause at 650 to nearly 1200 so quickly?

Good for them actually, I wish Doorknob would get that kind of growth.

It's a form of cheating. I've been there and done it.
I considered doing it for this guy. He's told me to not bother to go to his city anymore as he's going for chemo and radiation starting Monday.
I'm glad someone helped him out.

As for adding to cities that leave you messages, the trouble with this is that a lot (A LOT!) of messages don't stick. If you see someone leave a message once in a while, assume they are there everyday.

Rather than "do the rounds" I visit those who visit my city and leave messages, kinda why growth has been slow.

Ah, good idea. So if anyone visits my city, please leave a message, and I'll visit you. :) I'm assuming it's obvious which city they have? Or do they have to leave the name of the city in the message?

Depends. I always sign with my initials and a stupid joke about Doorknob City so people know where to go.

Edit: I see what you mean about the messages not sticking, I tried to leave a message for Elmo-D and it took 12 tries.

Exactly. That's why we have auntiehill's posted list. The towns listed on it are people who've generally proven that they visit everyone on a daily (or at least) regular basis.

I generally post mine as "Mallory" and include the name of my city in the message. For example, "A farmer from New Mallory has settled here". I tried twice to leave a message for you Elmo, but they just weren't sticking.

Sorry, Mallory! BDR from Doorknob was able to leave a message, so I dunno what could have been wrong for you. Thanks for the farmer! ;)

Yikes! That's weird. Mine have been sticking right away.

It's a known bug. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. Comments always look like they were posted but if you revisit later they've mysteriously disappeared.

Call me absent for a long time, but clicking those links gives me xml numbers but no city. What gives?

The XML pages show you what each city needs. The goal is for unemployment, security and pollution to all be zero percent and transportation to be 100 percent. Once you've taken a look, strip off the "/xml" in the address bar and add "/ind", "/sec", "/env" or "/tra" depending on what you want to add to when you visit. If you just want to add another person you don't have to add anything once you've stripped off the "/xml".

Neat mechanic. The NextNuke flag seems somewhat ominous, though...

Well, I'll see what I can do today...

... but I'm having trouble leaving messages, though. :(

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to do a full round of visits yet this weekend but I still appreciate everyone's visits. I moved up another rank since yesterday. 13 more and I shall rule the Falklands!

Elmo - I wouldn't worry about messages not sticking. Those of us here who do these cities will augment your city every day.
You'll also gain new people who will have seen you posting in our cities.
I generally give new people a week and assume that they aren't getting my messages some of the time. If I never hear back from them, I cut them loose.
You can also tell that some people are now abandoning their cities.
You'll get the feel for it.

I'm the mightly metropolis of Vittoriaville, btw. :)
