Aerie-Class ships are designed to go very far, very fast and not be noticed. Their small size, ease of maintenance and exceptionally good sensors make them ideally suited for use in the Border Service, as well as being favoured by civilian scientific agencies.

The H’krii is one of the few in both Starfleet and the Border Service to have its entire crew (in this case just eight officers and non-coms) from just a single species: Deltan. This has led to many jokes being made about the ship’s complement and what they get up to, there are also some within the Third Squadron and beyond that have nicknamed it the U.S.S. Love Boat.

    The following crew are pictured:

Commanding Officer (First Shift) - Lt. Commander Ilahn (Deltan)
Bright and cheery, his time in the Border Service has permitted him a command of his own which has allowed him to pull together an all-Deltan crew. He has since proven to many that his unique ship and crew can handle any assignment given to them.
First/Tactical Officer (Second Shift) - Lieutenant Yinn (Deltan)
Oddly for a Deltan, he is surprisingly reserved and private. When not on shift, he withdraws to his quarters. Though others have tried to get him to open up, he remains somewhat sullen.
Chief of the Boat/Operations (First Shift) - Chief Petty Officer Nadi (Deltan)
When the chance to serve on an all-Deltan ship was offered to her, she readily accepted. Though a decorated member of Starfleet, with years of serve behind her, as well as her Oath on file, she has a voracious sexual appetite that she can now indulge freely.
Senior Engineer (First Shift) - Petty Officer 2nd Class Rielle (Deltan)
Newly promoted to her senior position, she is still has quickly made it hers. Using the workspace for her various devices, when not working on ship systems, she is tinkering with her pet projects.
Flight Controller (Second Shift) - Petty Officer 3rd Class Ama (Deltan)
Formerly a shuttle pilot, she is used to piloting small ships and getting the most out of them. The H’krii is a little bigger than she is used to, but she handles it easily. Since she is the one on shift with Lieutenant Yinn, she is usually the one trying to get to know him.

    Not Pictured:
Engineering Specialist (Second Shift) - Petty Officer 3rd Class Keena (Deltan, Female)
Deckhand/Security Guard (First Shift) - Crewman Oron (Deltan, Male)
Deckhand/Security Guard (Second Shift) - Crewman Ijos (Deltan, Male)

Afraid not. Never been into comics all that much.

Besides there are loads of others who make micros of Marvel, DC and other characters, these ones are all in my head so I get to share them :)

You know, even if you can't get very diverse after a point, with the templates running out, I still LOVE the different characters you're coming up with. Fantastic!

    Thanks.

They're really intended more as a guide to how the main characters look together, the differences in species, etc. I don't doubt that a few do look very similar to one another, but so long as people get the jist and enjoy what they see I'm happy.

I've got to try and design a Kasheetan for the Kukui now

The U.S.S. K’Shod is the second Aerie-Class patrol scout in the Third Squadron. Assigned just after the Talarian Incursion, the crew of the K’Shod has a very different approach to things than the H'krii.

Like her sister ship however, the K’Shod spends its time quietly watching the border for activity, ready to sound the alert should the Talarians try anything again, but also more than capable of handling the occassional smuggler or raider.

    The crew pictured are:

Commanding Officer (First Shift) - Lt. Commander Bethany Forbes (Human)
A very professional officer, she likes to run a tight ship—which many find surprising given the size of the K’Shod and her crew. Her standoffish manner takes some getting used to.
First/Operations Officer (Second Shift) - Lieutenant Halam Zol (Bolian)
When he first came aboard he was the polar opposite to Commander Forbes, but over the last twelve months he has tried to adjust his manner, so as to work better with her.
Chief of the Boat/Engineering (First Shift) - Chief Petty Officer Cynthia Shipman (Human)
Newly promoted to Chief of the Boat (following an incident with her predecessor), she has stepped into the role with ease. Like Forbes, in Engineering she likes things done her way.
Senior Tactical Specialist (First Shift) - Petty Officer 1st Class Reihsh (Rigellian [VI])
New to the K’Shod, he has yet to get used to how things are done onboard the scout. With a flair for tactical combat he relishes the chance to put his skills to the test.
Flight Controller (Second Shift) - Petty Officer 2nd Class Oliver Rodgers (Human)
With a few black marks on his record, he was assigned to the K’Shod so that Commander Forbes could get him back in line.
Corpsman/Environmental Specialist (Second Shift) - Petty Officer 3rd Class Jayme Copeland (Human)
A warm, caring and nurturing woman, she had just started at Starfleet Medical Academy to train as a nurse when the war began. Wanting to do her part, she switched to Basic Training.

    Not Pictured:
Engineering Specialist (Second Shift) - Petty Officer 2nd Class Nael (Deltan, Male)
Tactical Specialist (Second Shift) - Petty Officer 3rd Class Suri ki’Vahs sh’Thol (Andorian, Shen)
Deckhand/Security Guard (First Shift) - Crewman Vei Tazarak (Saurian, Male)
Deckhand/Security Guard (First Shift) - Crewman Yolanda Okonedo (Human, Female)
Deckhand/Security Guard (Second Shift) - Crewman Fei Yen Tam (Human, Female)
Deckhand/Security Guard (Second Shift) - Crewman Daniel Reese (Human, Male)

You have some interesting crew dynamics for your Soyuz class and your two Aeries, Bry. Out of curiosity, are you gonna include any other Albacore class cutter crews?

Neat. I'm a creator myself, I mainly make DC micros (mainly Green Lantern), I make a few Marvels, and I'm also moving onto film micros. I've always fancied doing some trek ones sometime, but I can't realy make trousers very well, and I avoid using templates as often as I can. Neat work still!
Wow, still making some great characters dude!

The U.S.S. Medusa is one of two Griffin-Class ships assigned to the Third Squadron to replace the two lost during the Incursion. In service for over twenty years, the class has proved itself time and again as being a hearty and reliable addition to the Border Service fleet. Its design was ahead of its time, with a few elements more commonly associated with the Intrepid-Class.

    The Senior Staff are:

Commanding Officer - Captain Tahnasarai zh’Thara (Andorian)
Her career began in the Marine Corp, but when she was a Captain she was critically injured on assignment. Once healed, she was unable to return to duty (due to the nature of her injury), so she was offered the chance to transfer her commission. She accepted and opted for the Border Service. Her marine training hasn’t left her, and she still behaves as a marine officer would. She prefers the simple version of her name, Sarai.
First Officer - Commander Bethany O’Connell (Human)
Fourth generation Border Service, she grew up listening to the stories of her families exploits and adventures. She knew she would follow in their footsteps, despite the danger involved. Her more relaxed manner makes her a good counter to Captain Sarai, but she is by no means a pushover.
Second/Chief Operations Officer - Lt. Commander Sofie Larsdottir (Human)
Tall and stunning-beautiful, she was born and raised in Norway. On duty it would be difficult to find a more focused officer, off-duty however she is a bit of a wild child—so it’s hardly surprising that many of her shipmates call her “Viking”.
Chief Engineering Officer - Lt. Commander Yassa Nol (Catullan)
A brilliant mechanical engineer, she likes nothing better than getting her hands dirty fixing things—it’s a rare occasion when she isn’t covered in grease and grim. She loves the opportunities her position offers her for tinkering with technology, but she hates all the paperwork.
Psychiatrist - Lt. Commander Nalath L’Jae (Centaurian)
Originally on temporary assignment to do a study on the crews stress and mental health over a prolonged period, due to his additional training in diplomacy and xenology he was able to prevent a disastrous situation, after which he was accepted into the crew. Quiet, observant and patient, he is surprised that he is enjoying his post as much as he is.
Chief Tactical Officer - Lieutenant Tohra Ijen (Bajoran)
A former officer with the Bajoran Militia, she transferred her commission when it was merged with Starfleet upon Bajor’s admittance into the Federation. She grew up fighting the Cardassians, which has left her with a deep hatred of them. As a former Resistance fighter, she will always stand up for the weak and powerless, regardless of who she is against.
Chief Medical Officer - Lieutenant Atalik Kovács (Human)
Of Hungarian origin, he grew up on a small colony on the outer reaches of Federation space, where life was often challenging. He learned from his mother about the healing properties of plants. When he announced his decision to leave to study medicine, she fully supported him. Due to his upbringing, he will always muck in with what needs doing despite his position.
Chief Flight Control Officer - Lieutenant JG Vehl Laayd (Rhaandarite)
Considered a “slow learner” on Rhaandara, he entered Starfleet to get away from the judgemental views of his peers. Oddly for a Rhaandarite, who aren’t known for making quick decisions, he is somewhat impulsive.
Chief of the Boat/Security - Senior Chief Petty Officer Chris Parker (Human)
Born a Boomer, he was constantly on the move as a child, visiting many different worlds and stations on his parents’ freighter. When he was eighteen the ship was attacked and boarded by Orion pirates, during which time he did his best to keep them out of the cargo holds. When a Border Service cutter arrived to assist, he saw them at work and knew he wanted to join.

The U.S.S. Obion is an asteroid breaker/warp tug assigned to the Third Squadron. Designed to clear shiplanes of navigational hazards and tow damaged ships to port, the Ouachita-Class has three deflector dishes, multiple tractor beam emitters and powerful impulse engines.

    The ship’s Senior Officers are:

Commanding Officer - Captain Ghemari emal Verj (Tellarite)
As a Tellarite she often comes across as gruff and opinionated, but to her crew and close friends she is a warm and friendly woman, with a sarcastic wit. With over forty years’ worth of experience under her belt, she is only slightly behind that of Captain Yolix.
First/Chief Tactical Officer - Lt. Commander Kyle Asher (Human)
He has served under Captain Verj for several years, though at first unhappy with being assigned to a tug, he has since come to relish the challenges the ship presents. Promoted to XO after Commander Kane was reassigned, he has a lot to learn about Command.
Second/Chief Operations Officer - Lieutenant Ariene Neera (Orion)
A former Net-Girl on Fraalx III, she managed to escape her life of servitude and get to the Federation. There she managed to scrape through the Academy after which she was dumped onto the Border Service. Known for being a scrapper, she likes having the odds against her and nothing but her guile and wits (and more often than not her fists) to rely on.
Chief Engineering Officer - Lieutenant JG Tam Halgan (Betazoid)
Young and bright, his enthusiasm often leads him to act before fully thinking things through. Known for his ability to multi-task, he likes being given a problem and going off to solve it.
Chief Medical Officer - Lieutenant JG Janice Muir (Human)
When the Dominion War began, she signed up to be her patriotic duty. She was exposed to the full horrors of the war, but kept her head down and focused on her work. After the stop/loss order was rescinded she opted to remain in Starfleet, and was reassigned to the Obion. Not being Starfleet trained, she often flouts regs to get her job done.
Chief Flight Control Officer - Ensign Ramiero Vasquez (Human)
Fresh from the Academy, he was assigned to the Border Service and has been forced to learn on the job. With his head still filled with all the steadfast teachings of Starfleet procedures, his assignment to a tug is making his head spin.
Chief of the Boat - Chief Petty Officer Jeretran 6708 (Arcturian)
As with all Arcturian, he is a clone and as such has an odd outlook on life. Though he will fight tooth and nail to save others, he would happily give his life for another. Many new additions to the crew find his almost preoccupation with death to be unsettling.

Due to their reliability and endurance, the Miranda-Class starship found its way into the Border Service as well, where it was class as an escort cutter. The U.S.S. Peregrine is one such ship assigned to the Third Cutter Squadron. During the Talarian Incursion the ship was badly damaged, when it went up against six dah’je (Kamikaze) ships in order to save a full-scale evacuation of a Federation colony and research outpost.

    The Command Staff onboard are:

Commanding Officer - Captain Harrison Richards (Human)
A charming and personable officer, he is very well liked by his crew—as he not only works shoulder-to-shoulder with them, but knows how to show his appreciation. It is rare for him to lose his temper, so when he does everyone knows it’s a bad situation. He and Hrezel served on the Silverfin at Conn and Ops respectively, so when he was promoted to Captain he poached the Saurian to serve under him.
First Officer - Commander Si Hrezel (Saurian)
With a pragmatic approach, he often plays devil’s advocate so they can fully assess a situation or plan—something Captain Richards likes to help him stay grounded. He has a quirky sense of humour that not everyone gets. He and Richards served on the Silverfin at Ops and Conn respectively.
Second/Chief Engineering Officer - Lt. Commander Paroth Atau (Rigellian IV)
With pointed ears, platinum blonde hair and an easy smile, many are thrown by him. It is one of the ‘perks’ of being a Vulcanoid Rigellian (according to him). He has easily bonded with Captain Richards and Commander Hrezel, so much so that they will often spend their time together whenever they are in port.
Chief Operations Officer - Lieutenant Tallulah Pryce (Human)
Nicknamed “Lu” by Captain Richards, it has stuck with the rest of the crew. With a sharp wit and a generous helping of sass it is easy to see why she and the Captain get along so well—which, of course, has led to many rumours about the two of them, none of which have been confirmed or denied.
Chief Flight Control Officer - Lieutenant Samyra (Vulcan)
Captain Richards has nicknamed her “Sammy”, though she has made it clear she only tolerates it from him. Calm, methodical and logical, she is a pillar of strength in the midst of a crisis. Her family disowned her when she left Vulcan to enter Starfleet.
Chief Medical Officer - Lieutenant Sahn (J’naii)
New to the Peregrine, it transferred onboard after the Talarian Incursion, and many on the crew have yet to get a feeling for their new Doctor. Efficient and highly-competent, it handles everything that comes into sickbay with a detached curiosity.
Chief Tactical Officer - Lieutenant JG Girenoff Na-Veisek (Efrosian)
A baby-faced young officer, the customary Efrosian moustache looks out of place on his youthful face, though he prefers to keep his hair short. As sharp as they come, there isn’t much that slips by him.
Chief of the Boat/Security - Senior Chief Petty Officer Ai Tanaka (Human)
With a hard, steely gaze, she often doesn’t need to say or do anything to persuade people to do what she wants them too. She bears a scar on her face; exactly where it came from is unknown, though it may have something to do with her deep dislike of the Klingons.

All of the marker buoys and unmanned communications satellites around the outer rim of Federation space need to be monitored and maintained, which is where the tenders come in. Seen as the lowest rung on the Border Service ladder, they are assignments that many try to avoid when possible.

The U.S.S. Saginaw is a tender that does a lot of work with the Third Cutter Squadron. A retired Oberth-Class ship, it was brought up to the minimal operational level and put to work.

    The Senior Staff onboard are:

Commanding Officer - Commander J. Ulysses Kane (Human)
In the regular Fleet he had serious problems with authority and was eventually transferred to the Border Service, where he found that his unorthodox ways were appreciated. He has begun to rebuild his career, grateful for the second chance he has been given. He previously served as First Officer on the Obion until just after the Talarian Incursion, when he was offered his own command—something he never expected to achieve.
First/Chief Operations Officer - Lieutenant Isabella Nutini (Human)
She was among the survivors of the U.S.S. T’Vor, which was destroyed by the Talarians. A thorough officer, her work cannot be faulted, but her personal life gets some scrutiny—she has a voracious sexual appetite, which she enjoys with anyone willing and able. If it weren’t for an incident with the husband of an admiral, she would have had a promising career in Starfleet.
Second/Assistant Chief Operations Officer - Ensign Oren (Tzrin)
From a species that look very young for their age, he has had a tough time being taken seriously by others. This has left him despondent and somewhat insubordinate, which was why he was transferred to the Saginaw. Expecting the same behaviour, he was surprised by Commander Kane, though is still suspicious.
Chief of the Boat - Chief Petty Officer Entirojj (Boslic)
Brash and cocky, he has gained his promotions due to his daring and bravery (often which involved running into dangerous situations without thinking). He was put onto the Saginaw to try and teach him restraint and patience, but has left him antsy and eager to get onto any other ship.
Senior Engineer - Petty Officer 1st Class Lloyd Wallis (Human)
Introverted, timid, shy and quiet are all good descriptions for him. Appointed to his post when Commander Kane came aboard, he hates being in the limelight and responsible for others—preferring to hide away somewhere to fix and tinker with the ship’s systems. Now in charge of the small engineering staff, he is well beyond his comfort zone.
Senior Flight Controller - Petty Officer 2nd Class Karen Reyes (Human)
A former Boomer, she signed up for Starfleet after the freighter she was on was destroyed by Klingons and she was one of the three survivors. A gutsy pilot, she isn’t afraid to take the difficult path. A few months after Commander Kane took charge of the Saginaw, they began a tentative relationship.
Corpsman/Environmental Specialist - Petty Officer 3rd Class Shaalari zh’Hyen (Andorian)
A woman who is definitely more Border Dog than healer, throwing herself into action before anything else. The fact that she is the best marksman on the ship says it all. She is a decent medic; just don’t expect a warm welcome or caring bedside manner. Her assignment to the Saginaw is intended to get her priorities readjusted.

Ok, so I may already have microheroes of the Silverfin crew up already, but I've made one or two little tweaks (plus a new hairdo for Harriet), but I'm also including character blurbs as well.

The U.S.S. Silverfin is the main focus of my fanfic writing, with a few stories already written and available to read (if anyone fancies giving them a go then please get it touch and I can provide links), and many more in the pipelines.

The second Albacore-Class cutter assigned to the Third Squadron, it has taken on many dangerous assignments and has a very high success rating. With a dedicated crew, made up of experienced and rookie officers, non-coms and crewmen, each with their own talents and skillset, they throw themselves into whatever mission they are assigned or situation they find themselves facing.

The Main Characters in Star Trek Silverfin are:

Commanding Officer - Captain Susanna Leijten (Human)
She is one of a minority of officers who has managed to cross easily between the regular Fleet and the Border Service throughout her career. Dedicated to her crew, she pushes herself hard to ensure that they succeed and that she gets them all home at the end of each assignment. She once had an intense relationship with Senior Chief Mitchell, and after he was posted to Star Station Freedom they have begun seeing each other again.
First Officer - Commander Amorin (Benzenite)
Promoted to XO in the final months of the Dominion War, he was previously the Chief Engineer and had no interest in Command. Over time he has grown into his new role and formed a solid team with Captain Leijten. He needs a specialist breather mask and goggles to survive in an M-Class atmosphere.
Second/Chief Operations Officer - Lt. Commander Kolanis Daezan (Betazoid)
A charming and intelligent man, he is well-liked by all onboard for his hard-working ethic and easy nature. Recently afflicted by a strange mental attack, he spent months on Betazed in a coma before being revived. The incident has given him pause to go back and look at things he took for granted or never realised in the past.
Chief Medical Officer - Lt. Commander Tunde Mbeki (Human)
A man who lives to help others, he is not only a skilled physician, surgeon and biomedical researcher, but also a fully certified Ship’s Counsellor. In time everyone seeks out his advice and opinion on something, including Captain Leijten. He loves to learn, which he pursues by undertaking distance learning courses offered by Starfleet Academy.
Chief Flight Control Officer - Lieutenant Harriet Llewellyn-Smyth (Human)
Stunningly beautiful, with flawless alabaster skin and a flawless Cambridge accent, many often underestimate her—but that is a mistake they will only make once. Few can beat her resolve or strength, and her flying abilities are second to none. She also harbours deep feelings for a shipmate, though she hasn’t told him how she feels.
Chief Engineering Officer - Lieutenant Elak ko’Parr th’Shaan (Andorian)
Relaxed and easy-going, he takes everything in his stride. Formerly Commander Amorin’s assistant, he took to his new promotion with ease and has moulded his crew into a tightly-knit group he is proud to call his. All of this was pushed beyond his limits when Ensign Feeznar was assigned to the ship, but that tension has eased, after the Ensign saved the ship.
Assistant Chief Operations Officer - Lieutenant Innis Kalm (Bajoran)
An Academy friend of Lieutenant Llewellyn-Smyth’s, he was assigned on a temporary basis when Lt. Commander Daezan was taken to Betazed; he quickly slotted into place onboard and was welcomed by almost everyone. With a quick-wit and a sharp mind, he proved to be a valuable asset. Now officially transferred, he wants to get further settled.
Nurse/Medical Student - Lieutenant JG Tessi Jenka (Rigellian 3b)
From a prestigious family on Beta Rigel 3b, she hated the arrogance and bigotry of her parents. After an impressive career in nursing she wanted to become a doctor, but her plans were delayed when she was needed to act up as CMO on the Silverfin. Onboard, she showed herself to be a gifted healer who wasn’t afraid to fight her corner, so when Doctor Mbeki returned he asked her to remain and he would supervise her training.
Chief Tactical Officer - Ensign Jose Tyler V (Human)
From a long-line of Starfleet officers, all of whom gave their lives for the Federation, he has a lot to live up too. After graduating first in his class and then attending Advanced Tactical Training, he asked for assignment to the Border Service. A serious and very focused young man, he may be smart but lacks experience.
Chief of the Boat/Security - Master Chief Petty Officer Syva (Vulcan)
As with many Vulcans, she is older than she looks. Before she signed up for Starfleet, she served as an elite office with Vulcan Security. A master of many forms of martial arts and a shrewd investigator, there is little that gets by her. Logical and thorough, she may not express her emotions, but over the years she has come to understand the strength they can give others.

The U.S.S. Thunderbird is a Griffin-Class ship, assigned to the Third Cutter Squadron to replace one of her sister ships lost in the Talarian Incursion.

After the Dominion War, the Thunderbird became part of Vice Admiral Bouvier's (the Border Service Commander back on Earth) plan to integrate the Service into the regular Fleet, a plan that has worried many experienced Border Dogs. Due to the nature of their work, the cutters that make up the Border Service have to operate a little differently to their Starfleet cousins.

    The Senior Staff are:

Commanding Officer - Captain Aalimah Kalil (Human)
Transferred to the Border Service after the Dominion War, as part of a move to bring it under the regular Fleet, she is an officer who likes the rulebook. Some onboard were unsure about her lack of experience in the Service; though she is a little stiffer than other cutter CO’s, she has adapted—as has her crew. In the minority of humans who still follow religious beliefs, she is proud of her Muslim heritage—as evident by her wearing a hijab.
First Officer - Commander Gtrakdahr (Ktarian)
Having served onboard the Thunderbird since he graduated from the Academy, he knows the ship well. He butted heads with Captain Kalil at first over time they have come to a better understanding of each other, though they still don’t see eye-to-eye on everything. His main priority is to the crew and ensuring they handle the changes happening onboard.
Chief Tactical Officer - Lt. Commander Hafeez Das (Human)
Formerly the Tactical Officer onboard the U.S.S. T’Vor (one of the cutters lost during the Incursion), he was posted to the Thunderbird when it was attached to the Third Squadron. His name means ‘protector’ which is just how he sees himself, and though more than qualified to move into Command, he has chosen to stay at Tactical.
Chief Engineering Officer - Lt. Commander Jacqueline Tang (Human)
Better known as ‘Jackie’, she is as far removed from Captain Kalil as possible. Very much old school Border Service, she is used to doing things very differently. Displaced through time onboard the Soyuz-Class cutter U.S.S. Bozeman, she was the Assistant Chief Engineer. She has got her career back on track and adjusted to life in the twenty-fourth century, more or less.
Chief Operations Officer - Lieutenant Jort bin Tahgor (Tellarite)
From one of the colonies along the Cardassian border. He grew up admiring the Border Service crews that stopped by the colony and entered Starfleet to keep others safe. After the DMZ was formed, his twin sister became involved with the Maquis and tried to convince him to join them, but he wouldn’t. The two haven’t spoken since, he doesn’t even know if she survived the massacre of the Maquis.
Chief Medical Officer - Lieutenant Mercer Rouleau (Human)
Born and raised in Paris, he grew up surrounded by art, culture and cuisine. His parents expected him to become an artist, so he surprised them when he announced his desire to join Starfleet. He had wanted a career in research, but personnel shortages across the fleet saw him assigned to the Thunderbird.
Chief Flight Control Officer - Ensign Tolan Mazor (Elaysian)
Only the third Elaysian to enter Starfleet, he is the first to venture out of the sciences. Determined to prove that his people can be a part of Starfleet at every level, he asked for assignment to the Border Service. Stubborn and independent, he doesn’t like being looked upon as helpless.
Chief of the Boat/Security - Master Chief Petty Officer Inta Thyez (Bolian)
She is a woman who accepts the name ‘Border Dog’ with pride. Tough and dogged, she doesn’t let anything stop her—even losing an arm in the Dominion War didn’t slow her down. Her career has a long list of impressive accomplishments listed and not a single reprimand. But ever since Captain Kalil took command, she has been very standoffish with her new CO, not liking the new direction the Border Service is heading.

    Thanks.

Seemed like the perfect way to bridge the gap between the two trilogies.
