My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic

Now here's a topic I never thought I'd be making.

Lauren Faust, one of the masterminds behind The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home, recently came out with a reboot/remake of My Little Pony. I checked it out after hearing some great things about it, mainly from its TV Tropes page, and it's even better than I've heard. Is anyone else here watching this surprisingly fantastic girly show overflowing with pink and cuteness?

Fortunately, for those interested, the network is more concerned with toy sales rather than TV ratings, so they are hosting all the episodes on their YouTube channel.

When I was 8 years old I wrote a letter to Hasbro criticising them for wasting money on silly products like My Little Pony, and demanded that they spend all that money developing new Transformers.

They actually bothered to write back to me, to tell me I was I selfish little boy who should remember that little girls deserved nice toys too, or words to that effect

That's awesome.

My Little Pony?
I'll DVR it and catch it right after I catch up on Fringe....
since both take place in the Twilight Zone.

As various Transformers fans are quick to point out, MLP FiM is the "Beast Wars" of that franchise. And I agree! The characters are fun to watch, the writing is intelligent and full of more mature quips the kids won't get, and dare I admit that the musical numers are actually FUN.

I'm watching the show with my wife (who was a huge MLP fan in the 80s) and my daughter (which thus strangely justifies the whole thing even though the parents are clearly enjoying the show more than she is) and have no desire to change the channel. In any case, I watch this in a block with G.I. Joe Renegades and am having just as much fun with that show, despite the obvious A-Team inspiration.

Judging by the replies in this thread, I think I need to make time to watch this if only to have my mind blown. :D

And Kelthaz, there's a sentence that I never thought I'd write.
