My Janeway costume

Cool costume: :techman:

You can order pips and authentic combadges from roddenberry.com. I ordered two VOY combages and they are just like in the show. Not glossy. They don't make any noise though either.

That's awesome, thanks :) I may not be able to get these in time though so mine will do! :D

Guy, what on earth are you talking about? :guffaw:

Your uniform looks fabulous! I am always astonished at people who can sew. I buy a new blouse if I lose a button.

How long is your hair in the back? 'Cause I'm thinking you should get some black leather gloves and rock the Living Witness look.

You can kinda see my hair-length better here:

I'm the redhead. That's my hairlength on all sides. And yeah I thought about going for that look but my hair isn't that short. I may go for Year of Hell Janeway and just kick ass as a wounded, pissed off Janeway. But I AM NOT messin' with my costume. We can just assume Janeway decided to replicate a brand new uniform before her untimely sorta-death.

Well, I for one welcome our new lizard-monsters-eating-cosplayers'-faces overlords.

GREAT SHADES OF KENT BROCKMAN!!!

So, firecrackerrrr, tell me about your plan to get the band back together?

1. In the Simpsons when Homer went into space, there was a misshap with a telephotolense, whereafter a regular ant looked like a giant-space-ant alarming the earthers as the camera feeds died for some unknown reason, which propelled Ken Brockman to say “Ladies and gentlemen, er, we’ve just lost the picture, but, uh, what we’ve seen speaks for itself. The Corvair spacecraft has been taken over — ‘conquered’, if you will — by a master race of giant space ants. It’s difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive earth men or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain, there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here. And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I’d like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to…toil in their underground sugar caves.”

It's a meme now, where insect overlords is replaced with "x" overlords.

It's some poor bastards name on facebook even.

and...

2. If you are Janeway, to "get the band back together" (A quote from the movie the Blues Brothers (1980) who were on a Mission from God.) would suggest that you would have to scour the earth looking for other willing cosplaists (that can't be right?) who will suit up as the rest of the crew.

Makes perfect sense. I shall start recruiting ASAP.

Great Costume! You did a really good job! Now on to the more important things... YOUR HAIR!!! You don't have enough for the bun... might be able to pull off the Living Witness 'do. We will need another pic for "the bob" also if you go Living Witness you'll need black gloves and a black mock-neck underneath.

EDIT: I just saw pic of your hair... Computer slow :( So unless you cut your hair LW wont work. Janeway bob might or you can get a hairextention.

As I said in the photo thread - awesome costume, positively stunning!

I think you should go for the Year of Hell hairstyle.

Also, you know you need to get the original Janeway stainless steel coffee mugs now, right? ;)

Yeah the bob definitely works. I tried it out. It's very easy to do. It's toooooo bad I can't go with the bun cause .... I mean....it's legendary

Ahem....so.....where can you get these fancy mugs :D
Apparently, they're pretty hard to get - Enterpriserules mentioned spending years looking for them on eBay ;)

Also, there are alternatives that look quite close to the "originals", some of them are mentioned in the Janeway coffee mug thread.

Don't for get to get two.

One for regular and one for when you want to be Admiral Janeway which is a bit munted.
