My Into Darkness Theory (Spoilers if correct, image heavy)

Son_of_Soong

Captain
Captain
Based on the 60 seconds of footage in the trailer, this is what I think will happen in the movie.

irs9k.png

Movie starts with the Enterprise in grave danger, lot of internal explosions... the ship is going down.

AqhHI.png

The Enterprise crashes into the water, nosediving at one point.

ayHz7.png

Rooms and corridors are turned 90 degrees when this happens, causing people to fall.

Pn62W.png

Kirk is holding on for his life while trying to grab other people, preventing them from falling.

QhC8T.png

But he is unable to catch Gary Mitchell who falls to his 'death'.

kisSD.png

The Enterprise is flooding and everyone will die unless Kirk (I believe) or Spock (see image blow) sacrifices themselves Wrath of Khan style.

MncWl.png

Uhura and Scotty are devastated, whether it's Kirk or Spock, either way that person somehow survives.

2VGVe.png

The Enterprise survives and rises from the water.

3xism.png

Kirk giving a speach at a memorial for all the lost crewmembers who died during the crash.

4zFFb.png

Complete with futuristic jets flying overhead.

ywlBy.png

Having lost a lot of it's crew due to the crash, a lot of replacements are newly assigned to the Enterprise, including Elizabeth Dehner.

sGFAD.png

Who Kirk immediately takes an interest in.

yUCnB.png

And the Enterprise returns to it's routine missions, lot of running and jumping.

Nr2rR.png

Gary Mitchell somehow survives the beginning of the movie and attacks Starfleet Command, blaming Starfleet and Kirk for leaving him for dead.

BgN6P.png

Kirk wants to go after Mitchell, but Admiral Pike orders Kirk not to.

6jELv.png

Mitchell heads to a Klingon outpost which he infiltrates then blows up.

mlzlk.png

Leaving their Starfleet uniforms behind, Kirk, Spock and Uhura disobey Admiral Pike's orders and heads after Mitchell to find out why he's attacking Klingons.

AHv9b.png

Spock trying to capture Mitchell in the ruins of the Klingon outpost.

2AlEb.png

Gary Mitchell captures Kirk and Uhura.

m7JWR.png

Kirk and Uhura look shocked while Mitchell tells them how he's going to get his revenge by tricking the Klingons to declare war on the Federation.

2YTxa.png

Spock eventually catches up to Mitchell and outwits him. Spock holds Mitchell at gunpoint while Kirk beats him up a little bit for all the stuff he's done. Mitchell is captured?

WemIA.png

In order to save the Federation from being blamed for the destruction of the Klingon outpost and prevent a war. Spock goes inside a volcano to trigger an erruption to destroy what remains of the Klingon outpost, erasing any evidence of what Mitchell did to the place.

Y4YpU.png

His revenge foiled, Mitchell escapes back to the Enterprise where he takes Kirks new girlfriend, Elizabeth Dehner hostage.

Ba8lA.png

Kirk walks onto the bridge of the Enterprise to confront Mitchell once and for all.

eu361.png

Only to find Mitchell wearing a Starfleet shirt, sitting in the captains chair on the bridge, waiting for him.

G2ux8.png

Final battle begins. Kirk Vs. Gary Mitchell.

What do you all think of my theory? :-)

Also that chair in the second to last image doesn't look anything like the captain's chair on the bridge.

Well it is only a theory, and a work in progress one at that.

At the beginning of the movie it's not the Enterprise crashing, something else causes people to 'fall' in the following shots.

At the end after Mitchell kidnaps Elizabeth Dehner he takes her back to his ship. Kirk enters his bridge to find him sitting in the captains chair waiting for him, the two fight which results in Mitchell's ship that's seen crashing into the water.

The ship crashing into the water is not the Enterprise, so your theory is kinda flawed from the start.

I don't think they are going to use Gary Mitchell sense he's dead in the comics and it would take dreadful exposition in order to explain him and his history with Kirk. Khan and Garth are more plausible, because each has a grude/vendetta against Earth in their own ways, with Garth having a bigger grudge at Star Fleet for snubbing him and locking him away after his "ressurection". Just because we see a blonde with Dehner's hair style doesn't mean it's her and the villain is going to be Mitchell. Hell that could be the new Janice Rand who Kirk had a thing for back in TOS.

One thing I have noticed is the the character seems to tie in strongly with Spock. the glass scene in the Japanese trailer is supposablly Cumby and Spock, not Kirk and Spock as mentioned be someone that has seen the next trailer. Also, Cumby looks just like a human version of Spock, the body and the dark hair. So what if the 'Enemy Within' happened with Spock and not Kirk?? Spock was split into a Vulcan side and a human side (Cumby). It's and interesting senario. It also explains why JJ can't publicly name the villian yet.

Well -- I suppose there is no use seeing it now. On the bright side, you saved me at least $8.75 (more if I see it in IMAX 3D) :p

The third pic might be an explosive decompression.

The eighth pic looks to be the Enterprise emerging from the water,
so it got into it at some point. Maybe with a "nose dive?"

I'm not sure I like the idea of Spock holding a gun on someone just so Kirk can beat the crap out of them. Not exactly "Evolved Humanity" is it?
