My idea for a new series

With her increasing knowledge of her powers; it's possible Kes became a new evolution of Ocampa. Maybe it wasn't given, she at this time simply believed it was?

In my "Coming Home" story which takes place in the beginning of Voyager's season 7, she was given a human lifespan.

I'm a little confused. Are you saying you wrote a story that takes place during season 7 of VOY that has something to do with this series idea of yours? Shouldn't it have been posted in the fanfic section then so we have some idea what you're talking about? Come to think of it, shouldn't this whole topic have been posted in Fan Fiction?

Does this mean you had a thought of getting rid of Shelby at some point? Maybe transfer and regain her rank? The Grand Captain dies and Shelby get honorably promoted? I'm just asking. I never had any interest or an investment in another infallible character. Death would be too easy for her. I would rather her have an Empire Strikes Back moment where Admiral Nechayev reveals she's her mother.

No, I don't have any intention to kill off anyone on this crew. I'm not Berman, Braga, J.Taylor or Fuller. Killing off main characters or ruin them is not what I'm doing.

As for the characters, I haven't planned anything. I was just toying around with some characters I did find interesting, therefore my mistake when it came to Shelby's rank (it was a while since I watched that TNG episode) and having two empaths like Kes and Ezri on the ship.

The Kes come-back story "Coming Home" was written a couple of years ago and has nothing to do with the recent idea about this new crew. It's available at the Kes Website, together with some other stories which takes place after Voyager's return to Earth and includes the Voyager characters too.

I've mentioned thenm on the Fan Fiction page here on the Trek BBS but they are longer than the common stories there which is a reason why I haven't published them there, at least not yet.

I have a WIP fanfic story that sees Kes bring together the Ocampa on her world and those who left with Susperia. After securing a number of ships, most of the dwindling population are sent to the Alpha Quadrant, where they'll be safe from the Kazon, Vidiians and all the other aggressive races in the region. Once there, they would become a protectorate of the UFP whilst the two "tribes" reunified, the station-Ocampa giving the planet-Ocampa access to their technology that prolongs their lifespans.

I really need to get back to it.
