My fiancé is a Trekkie!

@Christopher Szafran-Luce , since this is your first post, I'm going to leave it open, but we encourage thread-starters to actually provide some content for discussion in their original post, not just a link to something.

My fiancé would have to be an Artist ... not a Trekkie, though! Keeping STAR TREK contained in my Real Life is important to me. None of my friends care for the franchise and most of the time, they even forget my fondness of it. But I can't stay away from TNG, indefinitely ...

My wife and I used to go to conventions all the time.

Showing up with a real girl made me King of the Nerds. It was Glorious!

;)

My wife isn't much of a sci-fi fan (although she loves Harry Potter), but her father and brothers are all big sci-fi geeks, so it still worked out pretty well.

My girlfriend is a Trekkie, but not to the extent that I am. She's more casual, watches TNG sometimes when she knits. Me on the other hand...I'm obsessed. She did go to the New York convention with me last year. She handmade our TOS uniforms. It was a blast. It's nice to share that (sometimes). The more memorabilia I collect though, the more she looks at me sideways lol.

We've not done that and Mrs-Dimesdan is not as big a geek as I am when it comes to Trek.

I'm lucky, our whole family is into it.

I took my daughter to several conventions, and we even went to the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas when she was young.

This year I'm taking my son to his first convention.

:techman:

My wife is gradually becoming a Trekkie. She has been watching TOS with me and is asking me questions about the show (i.e. How fast is Warp Speed? What are dilithium crystals?) Stuff like that. She seems interested in the technical aspects of the Enterprise. I dug out my Starfleet technical manual for her to read. Our next Star trek series to watch is TNG.

That's so great to hear. You're not only giving them a great sci-fi hobby, but you're setting your children up with values that will help guide them into a positive and ethical future for us all. It's something I focus on a lot with my little boy, as my avatar might suggest...

I envy you! Too bad I live in the most isolated city in the world!

A couple weeks ago, my girlfriend sat me down, like she was lecturing a class, explaining how hot classic Spock is, and how Spock's girlfriends are better than kirk's girlfriends, as we watch her selection of Spockcentrick episodes of TOS.

She's a bigger Trekkie than I am.

Sure it's all well and good....until your daughter gets assimilated!!
