My experience with George Takei

Rÿcher

Fleet Captain
A long time ago, I saw Takei speak at the University of Maine at Portland (USM) and there was a meet and greet afterward - a sort of autograph session. Anyway, there was this very, VERY hot woman there. When it was her turn to get a signature and shake his hand, he looked at her adoringly and said, "you're lovely".

So it could be that Takei is more bi than gay. There are different levels of bisexuality and he might be a level 5 on the Kinsey scale where 6 is totally gay.

Or he was just being a gentleman...Or admired her wardrobe...you never know..

A particular sexual orientation doesn't make you blind to attractiveness in other people.

It's true that male homosexuals pay no attention to the appearence of women and are blind to female attractiveness. This is why none of them work as stylists or in the fashion and beauty industries.

I don't know whether to reply "TITS" or "COCK" to such an inane posting.

Are you suggesting that a gay man would not be able to tell the difference between a homely woman and a gorgeous woman?

... so us gays should only respond to what each of us consider female beauty by loudly exclaiming "oh my god, boobs! :wtf: Life Partner Bruce, chemical eye wash, now!"?

:guffaw:

One can be appreciative of a person's beuty and/or attractiveness without necessarily being sexually attracted to that person.

Guys don't go around telling each other how attractive we think they are. If I was a hotness, all beefy, square, chiseled jaw and deep blue, piercing blue eyes, he probably wouldn't have tole me that I was lovely.

And I thought we weren't allowed to attack each other on non TNZ forums.

Also, I wish to add you guys were all on my ass when I came up with the theory that he was gay a few years ago on this site. I was using another screenname which I forgot and re-registered.

My brother is gay... and he still appreciates that women can be beautiful without being any interest for him.

George Takei himself admitted in interviews that he has slept with women in the past as "a ruse" to cover up his homosexuality.

Look man, Sammy Davis Jr. was known as the "black, one-eyed, Jew," while Bill Shatner is known as the "Canadian Jewish Shakespearean actor."

I mean, isn't adding "bi-" already to "gay, Japanese American, actor, radio personality, political activist" already too much as it is? :guffaw:

That doesn't mean guys don't recognize attractiveness in each other. There is a separation between what people see as beautiful and what they see as sexually attractive. If showed you these pictures: http://www.poster.net/farrell-colin/farrell-colin-portrait-6500081.jpg and http://www.netsummary.dk/bianco/images/ugly_man.jpg , I'm betting you $1,000,000,000 that you can tell me which is more generally accepted as being more attractive. People can, and do, recognize attractiveness in those we might not want to take to bed. Women compliment each other enough sometimes, right? Does that action make them all bisexual in of itself?

If guys don't tell each other "Hey man, you're looking handsome today," there's a social reason for it. It does not mean they don't recognize it.
