My "Enterprise F"

Progress. Not a LOT, but progress still the same.

I took the doors off of the landing bays in the saucer.

Added some windows on the bridge module.

Did some clean-up work on the warp nacelles.

Detail of my bridge module.

I've never made windows from scratch before. They give me gas.

I love your greebly lines and windows. It's a surprise, since all I've seen are your sketches, and a nice contrast/complement to the wacky organic shapes.

Ah, wacky? Neither I nor my staid, conservative designs are wacky. Now if you'll excuse me, its Sunday, and that means it's time to put on my festive Sunday bonnet, and stand in the birdbath in the nude whilst flogging myself with a banana and singing all of Cher's hits from the 70s.

I kind of liked the off-center bridge, personally. Felt kind of... unique.

Aye, and I liked it too! But I thought it looked a bit nekkid and plain in the Y without the bridge module there.

I'm still monkeying with it. Maybe it just needs some very light surface detailing. With no big greeblies or contrived machinery attempting to replace the module, that broad, flat, smooth expanse could evoke power, like the broad flat hood of a 70's muscle car...

I have to admit that I wasn't really liking it early on but I am really starting to dig it now. :techman:

Man, this is going great. Now I have something else I want to build. :)

So... if I finish it, maybe add orthos (which are a complete pain in the ass) you would build it?

I'd have to leave it partially incomplete, so as to allow you some artistic freedom...

That reminds me more of an Enterprise J. Very cool. But what program are you using to draw?

A free one caled "Sketchbook" for Mac. Got it off the new App store on Apple's home page. I was struggling for a decent drawing program for my Mac Mini, and this will do for now.

I actually liked where you first placed the impulse drive. That might be a good design for a smaller ship with no shuttlebay...

You know at first I wasn't really keen on this design, but as you have added details I am really liking your design. Nice detailing on the bridge.

Re: My "Enterprise H"

OK, so this is where she is so far. She is to be my USS Enterprise "H". I have decreed that she is a Sulu Class starship.

I kinda missed having an impulse drive on the back, so I put it back in and revised it. I think it balances & echoes the "Y" at the front.

Obviously, the warp nacelles are new. They are wide, but I also plan for them to be very thin - I see them as being shaped like a wedge of a York Peppermint Patty.

I beefed up the saucer, as it was too narrow. And I ditched the bridge section, and am working on a new one.
