My Electronic Playmates TOS Enterprise Got a Cardboard PHASE II Refit!

Here's a project I've been wanting to do just for fun. I 'refitted' my electronic Playmates TOS Enterprise to look like the "Star Trek: Phase II" Enterprise! I used cardboard and construction paper of different colors (pink for the ramscoops, black for the detailing) and I tried to get the nacelles to look the same color as the body of the ship, even if the pylons look warmer gray. The pylons also don't cover the existing TOS pylons particularly well, and the nacelles are a bit square from the front instead of narrow triangles. BUT IT LIGHTS UP!!! So there's that! It's nowhere near accurate, and it's not gonna be anything more than a fun DIY project, but I'm thrilled with the results so far. This is a work in progress; my next goal is to replace the inner black detailing with more greebly textures as seen in the TMP Teaser Poster. If anyone has any constructive criticisms, comments or suggestions, let me know!

This is an ambitious project... And you should be proud at what you've done.
However, at the moment it looks like a rough outline of what you really might want to accomplish. You have some great skills with your cutting and shaping of the cardboard, so I would actually suggest that you get some sheet styrene also called plasti-card. Readily available in hobby shops... eh better make that online (unfortunate reality is that most hobby shops are few and far between these days)... the clear parts can be made using clear toy blister packaging, and sand the surface to "frost it". And get an Razorblade knife, or X-acto, some gorilla glue or locktite, or even Krazy glue and go to town.
Great job so far... But I believe you can make it excellent!

Curse my ADHD. I'm already in the planning phases of another project! This time I'm going to be working on a life size Wrath of Khan Refit Enterprise Captain's chair! Wish me luck, as I've never done furniture before, but I'm excited after finding the raw materials at a local Walmart and now I'm budgeting to see what it will cost to make the chair. Stay tuned for updates (I hope).
