It's been too long since I saw TJ Hooker that I forgot that was a staple schtick on that show.
Tonights ep with Jean Smart, right? Designing Women, was indeed great. I know the good money says that it's likely not going to make it but if the other new show tanks and/or Rules of Engagement isn't as good in that spot then hey maybe just maybe the WINNER of PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD for best new comedy could make a come back!!
Twilight and New Moon won best picture at People's Choice. People's Choice votes are 99% teenage girls.
I mean that's what you're saying isn't it? That teenage girls picked the winners of the People's Choice Awards. So what's their attraction to this show? Doesn't seem to cater to them on any level.

I voted too. It's not like there was a great slate of new comedies to choose from either. Nothing like Modern Family or Glee to choose from! :\

Or . . . here's a thought. Maybe some people actually like the show. I guess I'm trying to understand why you're trying so hard to discredit the win.
First it was teenage girls and now it's "random clicking."Look the show is toast, it doesn't get the ratings, and it's probably done pretty soon. I get that. But it won the award fair and square, let it ride off into the sunset with just a tiny bit of acclaim.
I'm sorry if I offended you so much. I'm just saying that most of the People's Choice wins involve Twilight, it's actors, actresses, pairings, etc. That just leaves me to believe that it's voted on by millions of pre-teen and teenage girls. No adult in their right mind would say that New Moon was last year's best movie.
It didn't offend me, I just didn't see the point in trying to diminish the win. No point in kicking them as they go out the door so to speak. And I still think it's makes CBS look silly for promoting the win while out the other side of their face they're saying "Oh by the way, you're cancelled."
This season has really left a bad taste in my mouth for CBS and usually they're about the only network I watch. I don't think I'm going invest any more time in any new shows, it just isn't worth it.

Pretty funny episode tonight,..with Lee Majors (Possibly my two greatest hero actors growing up in the 70's)I LOVE the fight scene at the end....

Very funny episode. They seem to be getting the hang of it. Just in time to be cancelled. If they could have been more like this in the beginning, maybe they wouldn't be facing cancellation. Oh well, I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
EDIT TO ADD: Oh and did anybody else have Wrath of Kahn flashbacks when Ed was taking to his girlfriend through the glass wall?

I also like though how Ed's character is showing growth. From the stuffy grouchy heart heardened man we were introduced to, into a man whose finding feelings and reconnecting.
I don't pretend it's the best show, or even comedy, out there but it has a lot of heart. Shame it's going to likely get cancelled. Maybe something will align in it's favor, just maybe.

I can't really say that the whole episode tonight was funny. The only funny parts were with Shatner, Jean Smart and Lee Majors. The part with Henry dropping his cell phone and other things down the dispose-all was lame. The scenes with the ex-boss donating her eggs and the dog eating them wasn't funny either. They should just retool the show and leave the idiot sons out.
It's like the other son and his wife are from another sitcom that airs as the same time as Shatner's.
