MST3K: The Movie

^^Oh, for me, the best host segments were in the first SciFi Channel season where they were roving around time and space. Well, there were individually better ones in earlier seasons, but I liked it that the show had an arc, that they were having adventures and going new places.

Yeah, I liked those a lot too. There was a lot of fun out there in Time and Space.

:)

I always found the arc-based host segments tedious, especially when you view them out of sequence.

The ones in the movie are good, though. "Gently, like a sparrow into the night sky."

I just wish someone in the UK showed them, I haven't seen MST3K in years, the DVDs aren't available here either. I think Sci-Fi once got the rights to a season or two, and just repeated the crap out of them.

I must be in the minority who really got a kick out of the movie; an old sorta-girlfriend and I bonded over the silliness of their commentary.

Sure, it was no Space Mutiny - but what is? :D I was just happy to see the DVD this weekend at Borders - it's been unavailable pretty much since it was first released, and then it was hideously expensive.

"Hey, there are two woodies in this picture!"

I was actually lucky enough to see this in the theater with a crowd of college students. It seemed to go over well. Since it was in Seattle though the "It's the Kingdome!" line probably got the biggest laugh of the film.

I just really wish the studio didn't pressure them so much on which movie to pick, the types of riffs they could do and, oh yeah, making the movie shorter than the actual episodes!

I liked the movie a lot, even after watching the series for years.

"Okay who put the toilet in the middle of the room?"
"I REGRET NOTHING!!!"

Also, I dig rifftrax -- I loooooove the Iron Man movie, but it was hilarious to hear them taking the piss out of that one.

It was especially fun with Mike "destroyer of worlds" Nelson.
