MS Office 2007 question

Is there a way to shut down word with a specific document open after a certain amount of time has expired? Like a macro or something?

Last friday we had a document open at work which couldn't be shut down and it's a commonly used document, but it doesn't necessarily need to be open that long. Can something like an autokill be set to work?

Sorry, is that just for users logging off? I'm looking for a macro or otherwise that will kill a specific document if inactive after 5 minutes.

I did find this:

But I'm not sure if it's a macro of VB script. Which may work as well.

Is this a network based shared document? We have some of these where I work (Abbott Labs) and it can be a problem if someone leaves one of these open and someone else, somewhere else, need to access it.

The domain policy can be set to log the user off after a specified period of inactivity. This would free the document and any other shared files up.
Its a bit overkill for the problem you're seeing, but it is an often implemented strategy to help secure your network.

Yeah that is overkill, cos it may be they are ignoring the document they have open but are still working, so the system won't detect them as being inactive.
