A movie ticket in Nashville is $9.50, matinee $6.50 although one Regal now has done away with matinee pricing.

Which Regal in Nashville no longer has matinees? A couple of work friends and I are going to Nashville to watch Quantum of Solace and even though we will probably not make it to a matinee, on the off chance that we can it would be good to know which theater it is. And, the Hollywood 27 is one of the theaters we thought about seeing it at. We all work in Columbia, but I refuse to give the Columbia Shady Brook Theater one more dime of my money!

The Opry Mills Regal no longer has a matinee price. I went to the 3:50pm showing of Eagle Eye a few weeks back and it was $9.50 just like any night time showing. Naturally I inquired(hoping for an error) and she said that change was made earlier in the year but as far as she knew it was just the Opry Mills location.

I go to so many free movies, Changeling tomorrow night & What Just Happened on Tuesday, that when I do see an event movie its always a night showing. Can't recall the last time I went to a matinee. If I do it'll not be at Opry Mills next time. Which is sad, its 5min from my house.

Well, except for IMAX movies, I think that I have only seen one movie at the Opry Mills theater. In December 2006, I was upset at the Hollywood 27 when I took a kid that I was mentoring to see Eragon. We decided to go to the 3:05 movie instead of the 2:50 due to the long line. I discovered after paying that the matinee movies stop at 3:00 after I had paid for our tickets. At least the Carmike Thoroughbred in Franklin still has matinee prices.

It's about $7.50 or so here for an evening show. Even with that price, I tend to just watch DVDs at home any more. I have a pretty nice home theater, so I'm quite happy to watch most things at home, and only head to the theater for big event movies I really want to see.

It depends on where I go. It can be anywhere from $8 to $15 in Hollywood, depending,as I said, on where I go.

In my area the theatres are usually priced at $9 or $10. The local Century omniplex does have matinee prices until 6pm for $6 IIRC. Honestly, it has been so long since I went to those places I am not sure the prices are the same. I did get out over the summer to several films, but never paid the ticket price. The local Safeway where I do my grocery shopping had a promotion going over the summer that wound up netting me two free movie tickets a week just for doing my regular shopping.

The best local theatre is the one closest to my house. It runs movies usually a couple of weeks after they are released (I noticed they start running as the local Century reduces the number of theatres a new release uses, I think they get the spare print). The place is set up as a speakeasy and for adults only. They sell alcohol, have tables and restaurant-like kitchen where waiters bring you your food as you sit watching the movie, and even had the area where the front rows normally are set up with couches where you and a date can snuggle while the movie plays.

A few other things as well.

1. Please don't sneak in the family size potato chips.
What makes you think I wanna your crackling ass bag the whole movie?

2. Turn of your God damn Phone!!!
There is nothing more annoying than hear the fucking thing ringing or you talking during the movie.
And BTW it as equally annoying with you texting your friends the whole movie, especially when your display is as bright as a flashlight.
If you a so important that you can't shut your phone off for a few hours please don't go to the movies.

3. Learn the fucking language.
I sure as fuck don't want to hear you translate to whole movie to someone too lazy to learn the language.

4. Get there on time!!
Why the fuck do I want you, stepping on me, standing in front of me putting your ass in my face or yelling at your kids for 10 min trying to get them to settle into their seats.

5. And lastly.
If your are going to do all that stupid shit don't do it in the row behind me, beside me or in front of me, especially in an empty theater.
Do I know you? Get the fuck away from me.

If I'm gonna pay $10.00 + dollars to see a movie I don't want your dumb ass ruining it and believe me, i will tell you all about it when you do.

My sticker shock: Sixteen bucks for a movie, and it wasn't even in 3-D

I just read that here, in San Diego, the cost of a movie ticket will go up to, get this, $15.50 for general admission.

I went to see "Solitary Man" on Sunday afternoon at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood. As it is a small release (Millennium Films and Anchor Bay), I didn't bother buying the tickets in advance. Instead, I took my chances and figured I'd buy them at the theater.
As expected, the show wasn't sold out. What surprised me was the $16 ticket cost. This was an adult drama, after all, not some 3-D action-franchise-sequel aimed at teens.

theater owners and Hollywood should think hard before going further down this road is that it gives people just one more reason to stay home.

cinema's can't blow it though now if they want bodies in seats for events rather than people staying at home. I believe limited engagements and live at cinema will become the next pay-per-view. Ultimate Fighting Championship events are already done via Fathom events.

The independently owned movie theater in Oswego, NY, charges $5.75 for all matinee tickets (movies that start before 6 p.m.).

Senior citizens and children 12 and under pay $5.75 for evening showings as well. Adult tickets are $7.75 for evening showings.

I treated my best friend and her husband to a trip to the movies a couple of years back, and the total cost of the concession stand (nachos for two and bottled water and a bag of popcorn), was under $20.
