Most Useful Information on the Web

Ah, getting sucked into TvTropes for hours.

There's a trope for that. ;)

For my academic work, libraries' digitised databases, Google Books, The Internet Archive, Gutenberg, Gale etc are my lifelines. How did people do research without the net? *Boggles*

Things I've discovered in the last 24 hours via random info diving on the web:

• Black Bell Peppers
• Turks don't have a very high opinion of Europeans these days; and vice versa.
• Barreleye Fish  (if you've never seen one, you must see this).
• The difference between Melanesians and Micronesians.
• Devil's Hole Pupfish
• Megan Fox and Zoe Saldana are still pretending they're really geeks at heart. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.
• Pets have their own blogs now (though this one seemed kinda inevitable, so it was more of a confirmation).
• ModelMayhem.com wasn't intended as a soft-core porn site after all. :(

I think I'll try to find some of those black bell peppers and then see if that info was useful or not. The rest, well, you know how it is. Information for the sake of information. Not necessarily a bad thing. I still haven't decided if that barreleye fish will inspire awe or give me nightmares.

The Cracked site always disappoints me. It bears no resemblance at all to the magazine.
