How can Archer be overrated? There are actually people who like him?

I only go into the Enterprise forum once in a blue moon. Guess it's a different world in there.
No option for Picard saddens me.
Perhaps it's all relative...if Archer has three fans, he's overrated.

I guess out of those I vote Seven. Though only by process of elimination. Archer and Dax aren't highly rated and Kirk and Data aren't overrated. I'd much sooner pick T'Pol, Riker or Chekov.

Of course Archer is not overrated. I just posted in the ENT forum about how his character is not awesome. That's the point of the character. Unlike Kirk, Picard and Sisko, he doesn't have this beam of charisma he can use as a weapon. He is just a guy, a hard working guy trying to live up to an awesome responsibility.

Except they overplayed the 'regular guy' thing so blatantly it blunts the effect.
Whilst Jeri Ryan's got talent as an actress, She looks like the daughter of Rodney Dangerfield. And though there are more fake chests in Hollywood than in a Pier One imports, hers are a little too much. I love her hair, though! It looks very healthy and soft ...
I never thought she was "all that," but that's just cruel....
Archer is overrated by the WRITERS. We're often told he's a great guy but he falls flat. The most annoying example is Twilight, where he's apparently the ONLY person who could save Earth from the Xindi. Is T'Pol really that bad of a captain? Among the fans, I don't know. Most of us are annoyed at the inconsistent writing of Archer. I myself have a love-hate relationship with him. There's his jerky behavior in Daedulus and Cogenitor. When they write him up to his potential, Archer is awesome (see Terra Prime).
So which ENT character is overrated by fans? I have no idea. The ones who think Trip is overrated seem to complain the loudest.

Well, you know. According to Star Trek, humans are the best. Poor T'Pol is like the Tin Man, lacking the heart that would make her whole.
