Jewel, only to fans of Firefly, really. Robert Picardo, to fans of Voyager and the early seasons of The Wonder Years. They're both character actors working mostly on television, really.
Richard Dean Anderson was quite a television star coming off of MacGyver, which was a big hit. It's why his name comes before the title on SG-1. Robert Carlyle is a moderately well known film actor. I suspect he would be billed first whether or not he came first alphabetically among the cast.

If America is the primary audience then only Anderson among any Stargate TV actor has any pull. Bridges was a character actor from a generation before who never starred in a show with a large fandom.
Carlye was in the movies nobody saw and that is why the Academy added 5 more nominees to the best picture category to get past the films he is known for internationally.
Ming Na is only a face for being part of the ER ensemble voice work does not increase your profile.
A case can be made for Ben Browder coming off of Farscape and bringing Claudia Black with him since he had genre "cred", however he was just taking over for RDA

Yes, she would be the most high profile with Joe Public, I'd say. ER was watched by huge audiences for much of her time on the show.

Well most americans will have heard of RDA thanks to Macguyver, but i'd say in the UK Robert Carlyle is the bigger name thanks to his films and tv series like 'Hamish Macbeth'.

It's interesting they managed to get her and Carlyle. Scifi is usually viewed as a ghetto dramatic actors really shy away from.

^ Carlyle did shy away from SGU at first. It was the darker/grittier/more dramatic pitch that made him sign on.

I'm not sure if you can even count James Bond. The Bond movies have really lost their appeal since the 1960's. Does anyone still watch those movies?
