most famous HERO cartoon is...

Notice that I didn't say best. But my friend and I have debated this for a week now..

I say the most "famous" hero cartoon is THE SUPERFREIENDS, and its various incarnations (Super Powers/Challenge of the Superfriends..ect) He says its the marvel XMEN cartoon of the 90s.

Maybe you have another pic. But remember, we're not talking 'quality' we're talking 'most famous'...

Might depend on when and where you grew up. For my peer group, I'd put money on most people knowing the 90s X-Men cartoon and BTAS. Not so sure about Superfriends.

ETA: Just asked two of the roomies and got 'Defenders of the Earth' and 'Captain Planet and the Planeteers'. Clearly my friends are statistically useless.

LOL..mine too. I just got replies of "Legion of Superheroes and Blue falcon/Dynomut.."

I'd say Batman: The Animated Series is now the most famous. It's famous across a number of age groups, whereas Superfriends is famous more to older folks. Also, B:TAS has had more staying power in the public's mind than the 1990s X-Men series.

Your all wrong....

You have no need to fear....
Underdog is here.....

I would go with this one as well

Batman in general would probably take the cake, he seems to be around in every era. I grew up with him not only on Superfriends but Scooby Doo. I kind of missed the boat on BTAS so I don't have the same fondness that many do for that so I don't know.

I wonder where Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would rank in "famousness"? Or is that too outside the box?

Would The Herculoids count as heroes? If so I pick them or Thundarr the Barbarian or Captain Caaaaaaaaaaaave Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

Blue Falcon and Dynomutt was cool too. My cousin admits that as kids she coveted my BF&Dm lunch box.

Edited to add: If I had held onto my Dynomutt lunch box and thermos, I could ask $450 for it on Ebay.

yeah..me too...in fact if you consider that entire TIMM universe as one big continuity, it isn't even close.

The Super Friends in all its various incarnations, of which I'll even included Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

For my generation, the second after that would be He-Man and the Masters of the Universe or GI JOE.

Good picks, again. I think there is a generation divide at work here...young folks are going with XMEN of the 90s, and BATMAN The animate series. Everyone my age is going with THE SUPERFRIENDS or SPIDER MAN (1960s)
