Most Egregious use of StarGate Technology

Meredith

Vice Admiral

Oh since the threads here are so gloomy and doomy what with SGU being canceled. and all.

Here is the the thread/game idea.

Pick a Piece of technology used either by the SGC or it's enemies and abuse the ever living heck out of it.

Here is mine:

Tech: Mimicking Device

Tech Abuse: Scan a Freeking Muppet with it and use the Device to disguise yourself as a walking talking (seemingly impossible) Muppet in a SGC uniform. Extra points if you can get General O'Neill to freak out and go crazy!

Using the Asgard build-absolutely-anything-you-want technology to create a bouncy castle in the cargo bay of the Daedalus.

The Asgard have replicator technology, and Carter was able to use that to make one in that ep when they were stuck on the ship for 60 years in a time bubble.

^

Well, yeah, but did they come out & call it a replicator?

It replicated their oxygen, and their food, and a musical instrument, what else can it be. I'd have to go back and view the episode to see what they specifically called it, but I do believe the word replication or replicate was use.

They called it a Matter Converter. Replicators are the bad guys. However, the Matter Converter was used to make a Replicator in "The Ark of Truth."

Matter converter makes more sense, it makes whatever you tell it to, it doesn't just replicate things.

I don't remember the device being named, though I do remember in The Ark of Truth they said it was "creating something virtually" in stead of "replicating."

It was how they were able to eat and breath though for 60 years, so it must have not been so virtual.

Hey, I'm just repeating the wording that was used. In fact, I think Thor himself have have used the term "virtually creating" when the computer was assembling O'Neill's Ancient anti-Replicator gun in New Order.

Well, I seem to have inadvertently caused quite an interesting little debate. :) I don't remember what it was called.

Back on topic...using an Ancient stasis pod as a refrigerator.

Using the Stargate opening Kawoosh to build tunnels.

And what happens if you take two Stargates, put the IN-Gate on the ground and the OUT-Gate above it, and then you jump into the IN-Gate. Infinity fall.

Only for 38 minutes or so. ;) But if the gate doesn't slow you down with each trip, you're gonna pancake below the bottom gate when it's all over.

They mentioned in the episode with the Spider-Man armbands and Tok'ra spice that the 'gate doesn't slow you down. Occasionally, it'll speed you up if it's a bad connection, but it won't slow you down.

The real trouble with that is that stargates have to be millions of miles apart, at least, to work.

How about using Ba'al's supercomputer stargate solar-flare time machine to give yourself the winning lottery numbers? Oh, no, better! An Asgard time dilation device to slow down the last night before the due date of a project you procrastinated on?
