I voted for Barclay's holodeck adventures. It wasn't just embarrassing for him, but also for the other characters he had created.

There was a lot of work to do for Troi as counselor.

I also hate La Forge being portrayed as clumsy when it comes to women. That is treated better in the litverse. But Geordi and Leah? No, no, no. It would never have worked. I don't like storylines in the litverse that follow that line, either. Geordi with a date yes, but Leah is nothing more than a friend and colleague.

Surely the scene in Timescape where Picard loses his shit after drawing a smiley face in the cloud and starts shouting no, no, no. I remember watching that scene with an ex girlfriend and she offered the opinion that Patrick Stewart was acting his balls off.

Actually I did think of that! But figured my poll was more about story line, plot line awkward rather than acting...otherwise I would have included all of Jon Steuer moments :)

Troi and Crusher stretch with their legs wide open between two mirrors. That must have been a punishment from the writers for the two actresses.

I remember reading, perhaps it was here, that the actresses changed infront of the crew for that scene. They got excitged for Marina, but when Gates took her cloths off, their reception was less than polite.

how about Yar shaking her booty while walking around in that one episode that I can't recall the name of?

Or how about Geordi, of all people, making the joke about the Ferengi and gorilla mask?

He didn't, at least not on screen. We only got Data recalling Geordi making the joke during the events around Encounter at Farpoint.

Troi put a brave face on it, but her self-worth must've been questioned being dumped, entirely, for a homely, rubber-headed androgyne. He was going to go rogue over this and quite STARFLEET, whereas with the beautiful Deanna, he just beat feet and disappeared on her! You know, I applaud Jonathan Frakes being such an Artist in wanting to be the first to approach the subject of homosexuality in STAR TREK, but ... this episode wasn't the way to do it and it shouldn't have been Riker, anyway. It was completely contrary to the character. This should've been a Barclay episode, perhaps ...

Is this the character cringing or me? For example, Barclay could cringe at his being discovered and we might cringe with him at his discomfort.

Or is this things that actually made me cringe when watching TNG? If so, my short list is:

1. Picard decloaks in front of the Romulans thus turning an internal matte into an international incident and could have triggered a war with the Romulan Star Empire.
2. Picard decides not to use the computer virus on the Borg.
3. Shelby interjects that Star Fleet will be "all better" with in the year thus pretty much slamming the reset button on the end of one of the best two parters of the franchise.
4. Any time Guinan is on screen makes me cringe.
5. Any time Picard uses the Prime Directive to avoid doing something.

Honorable mention, the mention of Data's functionality from Naked Now.

I'm sure I could think of more, but I'll probably catch enough hell from these.
