Most attractive male characters in S.T.?

Of the nuTrek characters, I prefer Pike. Some might ignore him because of his age, but I think the maturity, intelligence, and wit of the character are points in his favor, and I DO think he's very good looking.

QFT. An egregious oversight in my previous post, one that shall be rectified immediately. ;)

Spock - the TOS Spock - was probably my very first crush, and I see no reason to second guess myself now. I mean, dear Lord, he was so cool and so hot at the same time. Oh, I'm getting all flushed just thinking about him (she said, fanning herself with her copy of I Am Not Spock). The new Spock definitely ain't half-bad, particularly considering that I only find him to be mildly attractive when he's not being Spock. Same thing with the new McCoy, for that matter.

Despite all that, second would have to be Sarek/the unnamed Romulan commander. I mean, golly. It doesn't get much better than Mark Lenard, whatever uniform they put him in. Heck, while all the other young girls were swooning over Bobbie Sherman and David Soul on Here Come the Brides, I went hook, line and sinker for Lenard's character, Aaron Stemple, and he was even better to look at in Trek than he was in Brides.

But yes, the new Pike is - I have to say it - yummy. I'd put him third, really. And Picard is the guy who proved that short bald men can be hot hot hot - mostly (but not entirely) because of that fabulous voice of his. And I agree with all of those who find Damar hot hot hot as well - and with those who would find Dukat sexy were he not chillingly corrupt, self-centered and just downright nasty. Props to Marc Alaimo for bringing all that out.

So with that here's my top five:
1. TOS Spock.
2. Sarek/unnamed Romulan commander (can't choose between the two).
3. New Pike.
4. Picard.
5. Damar.

I got to see Avery Brooks on stage last spring. From the front row. Sisko may be w/ the prophets, but, believe me, Brooks still has his body and hotness intact.

Bless him! Sisko sure was a looker, too. I guess being gorgeous is in the job description of a starship captain...

Let's see NuMUSpock. I live in hope...

Oh, brother! Bring on the NuMUSpock! Would it be a stretch to hope for MUSpock Prime as well?:D

Picard, for embodying so obviously and in so many ways, the 21st century's womens' piece of crumpet.

I'd forgotten about him until you and a couple others mentioned him. Definitely good looking. And just about the right age. ;)

I can see how people might find some characters too evil to be sexy... In fact, I've felt the same way a lot of times. There are some characters who are just so evil, creepy and one-dimensional, without any redeeming characteristics, that I really can't find them sexy, however good-looking the actor is, and whatever he's like in RL or other roles. And then there are other bad guys that throw you for a loop by exhibiting some appealing qualities, some humanity, mixed with all the awful stuff, so you kinda hate them and love them at the same time. It's only then that the illicit lust kicks in. ;)

But the line between "I really don't find this guy attractive because he's such a creep" and "I really shouldn't find this guy attractive, but I do" is probably different from everyone. For instance, I was puzzled how some Lost fans could find Keamy hot - yeah, OK, he is tall, well-built etc. but one-dimensional mercenaries are really not people I can think of that way. Or, for instance, I never found Angelus on Buffy the least bit attractive, because he was such a totally cruel asshole, even though Angel was attractive - even though I know that some people felt differently and thought he was hot with his leather pants and badness, yada yada. While on the other hand, Spike at his most evil (think early-mid season 2) always somehow managed to be sexy and charming and sort of lovable - even though he was menacing, violent and predatory, he had those traces of humanity, like his love for Drusilla, his sense of humor and his somewhat boyish rebellious attitude. And then for an extreme opposite example, in season 7 there was a villain played by Nathan Fillion, who was so incredibly creepy and evil <shudder> that I don't think even the biggest Captain Mal fans could find that guy hot at all. Or, another example - Oz - I found the characters of Ryan O'Reilly and Chris Keller sexy despite being ruthless manipulative killers (well, most characters on that show were sociopaths and killers...), while I found Adebisi (although a great character) too repugnant even to notice that the actor was very good-looking - I only noticed it when the character went through a slightly more emotional and soul-searching phase at the end of season 2 when you kinda felt sorry for him. (Only for a while.)

When it comes to Dukat, I have to say that, for me, he falls into the second camp, for most of the show. As played by Marc Alaimo, he always walked that tight line and managed to be charismatic and human (!) enough, with his occasional heroic moments, his love for Ziyal, his attempts to get Kira and Sisko to like him, and even with his narcissism at times when it was treated humorously. He was such an engaging character because you often thought he could be a good man, perhaps...and then it was all the worse when he turned out to be even worse than you previously thought, but for the most part, he was ambiguous enough that you couldn't quite hate him 100% without liking him a little.

Except in the last episode when he got possessed by the Pah-wraith and went all cartoon villainy. I didn't find him attractive at all in that scene.

Really good points, DevilEyes. (As usual. Oh, and BTW, hi!) However, my problem with Dukat isn't so much what he did, horrible though so much of that was...it's his almost 100 percent selfishness and self-centeredness as he did that stuff. With Dukat, everything - even, to a certain extent, his love for Ziyal and definitely his love for Cardassia - came down to Dukat, to what was in it for him. And he never, ever saw it, never admitted it to anyone, certainly not himself.

I guess I just can't really respect someone who's so good at deceiving himself, and for me, where there's no respect, there's not a lot of attraction, either. Narcissists just don't do a lot for me, I guess.

So for you, he "always walked that tight line." For me, most of the time (there are exceptions), he just stomped too far on the wrong side of the line.

I think the tragedy of Dukat was that he could have been better, but he made the wrong choices--and those choices were HIS responsibility. His ending was one he brought on himself...no more, no less.

In the order as I think of them:
Nu Kirk
Cadet "Captain" Watters
Okona
Lt. Hawk
Lt. Lavelle
Lt. Tom Paris
Ensign Mayweather

How Could I forget Dr. David Marcus. I loved his arms. And face, and well everything.

Gibbs (oh, wait, he's not ST, but I still think he's HOT) :D
I've cast Mr Harmon as a rugged Texan non-com and love interest in Silverfin for that very reason!:)

He's down near the bottom. Along with Sean Connery as Captain Hilgrat Ja-Inrosh and James Marsden as Lieutenant Alec Murphy (both of who unfortunately died during the war, but may return in flashback stories), Sigourney Weaver as Captain Leijten's boss, Rear Admiral T'Rona and Liza Lapira as Lieutenant Commander Ling-Na, who transfered off the Silverfin in late 2377 to become First Officer onboard the Oslo.
