Most Anticipated Summer Movies

What movies are you looking forward to the most this summer?

1. The Avengers: all those heroes in the same movie? Joss Whedon? Oh yeah. I am super excited!

2. Dark Knight Rises: the sequel to the Dark Knight! but I'm afraid Bane is going to be stupid (again).

3. Prometheus: I know almost nothing about this, but I'm very excited to see a prequel to Alien about the Space Jockeys!

4. Battleship: I did not expect to be looking forward to this at all, but the trailers show some super expensive Transformers-esque action.

5. Men in Black 3: well the premise sounds cool but will the actual movie be any good?

6. Amazing Spider-Man: ugh. ANOTHER origin story? A horrible looking Lizard without a lab coat? I hope this doesn't suck. I wasn't crazy about the previous movies.

7. GI Joe 2: first one was dumb fun. Hopefully this will be more of the same.

8. The Dictator: love Sasah Baron Cohen!

9. Brave: I'd be more excited if I knew there was an action premise of some kind.

10. Total Recall: haven't seen a single photo of this so far, but I like the original!

This seems like one of the best summer movies seasons in a long while. With Hunger Games making as much as it did and the quality of the movie, I think it's gotten off to such a great start already. As for the movies coming up:

The Dark Knight Rises - I saw the new trailer this week and I have a feeling this movie is going to be really epic. I wish it would be nominated for best picture and actually have a chance, but we all know the Academy has chosen to go with films that do well at Film Festivals and the "indie" like.

Men in Black 3 - I've actually enjoyed the first two MIB movies and this one looks fun.

Brave - I did not see Cars 2 (It's in my queue) but I hope Pixar makes a rebound from last year. For having only 2 bad films (And they were pretty much the same concept) in 20 years and the rest being top notch quality, that's a very good track record

Total Recall - Does it make me feel old that they are now remaking movies from what I've actually seen? I'm very curious about how they are going to make this film as good as the first one.

The Avengers - Might go see it this week but I've really enjoyed the other Marvel movies (Except for Hulk, which I hated the Eric Bana version I didn't even see the Edward Norton version).

The Bourne Legacy - Really wondering how the new movie will be without Matt Damon

GI Joe 2 - There were parts of the first movie I actually enjoyed and was surprised at the negative reviews.

Seeing The Avengers tomorrow so I'll be able to scratch it off the list.

Snow White and the Huntsman & MIB3 are about the only ones mentioned I might see in the theater.

A few of the others (Dark Shadows at least) are "wait for the blu-ray".

Unfortunately, Despicable Me 2 doesn't come out till 2013, though I'm glad it's happening.

The Dark Knight Rises is the only film that is a "definitely" for me. I may see Prometheus as Damon Lindelof scripted it but we'll see.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. People said the same thing when Iron Man opened in May 2008 and we all know how that turned out.
