A little bit late, but here goes:

    Morrissey Dropped From Record Label

    Here's the real reason.

Frankly, I'm not surprised; although I usually don't like to see vital older artists who actually have SOMETHING TO SAY dropped from major record labels (compared to the current members of the popcratasy), this guy's recent actions have made it hard to keep him on a roster of one (supporting a racist political party is not going to endear oneself to anybody.)

Again, all apologies for posting this now.

I didn't know BMG was a label. I thought it was a "music club".

So many independent music labels around now, especially in Europe.

Don’t know what he did but for even his classic music his message is “People are awful and you especially suck”.

But supporting an awful party now shouldn’t negate the artistic merit of how elegantly he expressed that people are awful.

Hopefully this won't make him sad...

Supporting anything that's fascist these days is grounds for being boycotted, or more to the point:

I'd argue this is an 'Art vs artist' situation.

I'm not making a free speech issue, I'm saying it should be up to the consumers whether they want to listen to Morissey or not, and this is a case of the record label deciding for everyone. It's not okay for Netflix and Hulu either.
