I just watched Errand of Mercy last night and I love Kor in that episode. Cocilios was a great actor and brought a lot to that role and I was glad he showed up in DS9.

I really did enjoy seeing Colicos again as Kor, but I did find how they used him in DS9 somewhat unsatisfying. Same goes for the one-shots of Koloth (Campbell) and Kang (Ansara). None of them was really what we remember them as being from the TOS episodes--Ansara was maybe closest. They took Kor too far down the wine-soaked old soldier route and left too little of the ruthless Kor. I was happy to see him, and liked the way he went out, but still...Plus I thought in "Blood Oath" that with the 3 of them together there'd have been a little schmoozing around drinks (as they did about Dax) about their common old foe, Kirk. I could have seen the three of them tossing off Kirk stories and then toasting him.

I have to go with Mark Lenard. For me, he best represented a true Vulcan of any character interpretation I've seen. I know it wasn't TOS, but, the two-word response to Spock in ST IV, "Yes. Of course", just nailed it.

He made a pretty darn good ape too as Urko.

Funny story when I was 7 or 8 back in the early 70s,my older brother and I watched ST religiously. He had me believing that Mark Lenard was Leonard Nimoy's real life father. Lenard and Leornad were the same name right regardless that they weren't spelled the same and one was a first name.

Jay Robinson as Petri was such a pleasure to watch, as was Lee Bergere as Lincoln.

My favorite trek girl would have to be either Marlette Hartley as Zarabeth (that smile of hers...) or Barbara Babcock as Philana, as she played such a regal and sophisticated character blended with beauty and ruthlessness. Love it.

Lenard and Nimoy set the bar pretty high. Not many have been able to clear it.

And Lenard was a great Romulan Commander, as well.

Star Trek was great at choosing the right actors for the right parts...with one exception (Campbell as Koloth).

He just had to grow into the part. By the time he played Koloth in "Blood Oath," he was great in the role.

Not on TOS. Perhaps decades later he did actually grow into the part.
