More rewatchability: Voyager or Enterprise?

I like both shows but I honestly think Enterprise is the better one. That said, both are far from perfect but they "failed" for different reasons.

Voyager failed because of its risk aversion. It knew exactly what it wanted to be: it was the series designed to please Star Trek fans who didn't warm up to DS9 or saw it as a treason to the franchise. It provided fans with something familiar, in the wake of TOS and TNG, instead of breaking new ground like DS9.
It was purposefully bland, conservative and unchallenging, which is a shame because on paper Voyager had all it took to become a great show. Striving to survive in an uncharted region of space, light years away from home, two antagonistic crews forced to work together...
With some of those same elements, Ron Moore managed to create something completely fresh and innovative with the vastly superior BSG.

Enterprise failed because it didn't know what it wanted to be.
The first two seasons relied heavily on space exploration, in the most uninspired way possible, so we got a tired rehash of TOS, TNG and Voyager. But unlike Voyager, which had 7 seasons to improve but never did, Enterprise took chances and it worked.
The series started to become really solid from season 3 onwards, which made its cancellation extremely frustrating (just imagine what it could have become with Shran as a regular crew member...).
Season 3 reinvented Enterprise as a sort of DS9-meets-Voyager: DS9 because of its serialization and its war thematics, Voyager because of the scene being set far from home, in the Delphic Expanse, which, like the Delta Quadrant, had its own local species.
And then season 4 lived up to Enterprise's initial promise, that is to be a pre-TOS.
Consequently, watching Enterprise is like watching three totally different series rolled into one, which is probably why it never succeeded to find its audience.

I also disagree that Voyager had higher highs. In my opinion, Enterprise had some stellar episodes that are every bit as good as Voyager's best: Carbon Creek, Cogenitor, Similitude, Twilight, Home, the prophetic Terra Prime...

I love making episode-watching lists for my Trek rewatchs.
For Voyager, I kept 87 out of 172 episodes (50,58%) and I included some episodes that I consider painful to watch (i.e. The Phage) just for the sake of continuity.
For Enterprise, I kept 65 out of 98 episodes (66,33%).
So yeah, Enterprise definitely has more rewatch value for me.

Our rules state that you should not bump threads that haven’t had a response in over a year.

I’ll let this one slide since it’s not too far out, but please don’t do it again.

Thanks

I’ll never understand the perceived harm caused by a gap of many years between two posts on a timeless topic. Basically, if we’d have to keep retitling a thread in order to keep it in sync with the topic, then it’s clearly too long and should be closed. Otherwise, it can continue with (almost) no one the wiser.

For example, in this case, once again I hadn’t noticed the skip and replied quite normally, whereas I’m constantly misled for just a second by the outdated title of the ongoing thread suggesting that Daniel Craig is returning for a Bond film after this year’s (since I haven’t memorized Bond film numbers, and nobody has bothered to add No Time to Die to the title and remove the reference to Christopher Nolan).

This is the last time I’m going to address this with you.

First, stop debating board policy in other people’s threads. I don’t need your commentary on what I’m doing.

Second, if you don’t like the rule you can take it up with T’Bonz in QSF. Although she has made her intentions crystal clear on this rule more than once.

Now I expect you to drop it here, and to not do this again.

While I do enjoy Enterprise, Voyager has always been more of a "comfort show" for me. Some episodes just bring a smile to my face every time I watch them, like "Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy," "Bride of Chaotica!" and "Author, Author."

As much as I used to write fan fiction about Berman and Braga trying their hardest to destroy Star Trek, Seasons 4-6 (yes, I know Jeri Taylor produced 4) are a span of my favorite seasons of Star Trek.

Dead Stop is right up there with Doomsday Machine and Balance of Terror to me…even with Way of the Warrior…but THE THAW edges it out as my favorite non TOS story.

I like 24th Century Trek, just as a general entity. All the little bleeps and bloops and the LCARS. The general aesthetic with the ships/uniforms etc.

So it's Voyager for me. Though I have a lot of time for Enterprise.

I watch Voyager every now and then. I watch Enterprise every 10 years. So the answer, in my case, is VOY.

Plus Voyager is the second-most series that Picard follows up on.

For casual rewatching I'd have to go with Voyager. It's oh so episodic. The last half of Enterprise (where most of the better episodes are) are far more serialized. Much the same way that though TOS, TNG and DS9 are tied for my favourite Trek series, I rewatch TOS and TNG a little more often.
