In a continuation to the discussion that was hijacked by a militant liberal that apparently doesn't have a life, here we go...
First of all, some clarification is needed with regards to the move to MPEG4. Apparently E* is only switching its VOOM Network package channels to MPEG4 on Aug. 15th. Why? Because with all the old receivers out there yet, they can't change all the SD channels to MPEG4 without making a lot of people upgrade their receivers to something new.
And for those who have a relatively new HD receiver that isn't MPEG4 compatible, they'll probably get a call from E* requesting they upgrade their receiver if they want to keep the VOOM channels. However those with the three latest HD receivers, the ViP622, ViP222, and the Vip221, will be alright.
