More Classic Star Trek Games Might be Re-releasing soon

Some classic Trek games might be hitting GOG (and hopefully Steam) soon

https://www.gamefront.com/games/gam...games-could-be-re-released-on-gog-galaxy-soon

Nearly all (only one hasn't) the Activision published Trek games if added manually to GOG now have 2021 copyright on their box art, and high res background images for the game info pages. This art update only seems to be for Activision published games.

I'm guessing September 8th, since that's Star Trek Day.

Not guaranteed, but it would be a weird coincidence that their copyright was updated a couple weeks away and not get re-released.

I've already been able to get Bridge Commander to run on Windows 10. I wonder if the Elite Force release will include the expansion pack with the tour of Voyager mode in it.

Oh, yes please! I still have my original copies of most of these, but if they are getting released via GOG, chances are they will be more compatible with current OSes (I think I got Armada to work on W10 once!)

I'll definitely buy them on GOG, I'd love to replay Bridge Commander without having to jump through hoops.

I'd like to see BOTF too, but I feel like the source code for that game is long gone and it is pretty easy to get running anyway. A BOTF without the memory leak issue would be a god send.

All the Activison games coming to GOG would be fantastic as GOG are masters in getting games to work on modern systems, so i would be there day one to grab them all, only ones i see missing are SFCIII, Conquest and Hidden evil.

Interesting, I'm surprised that any of the old Activision games are getting a re-release after that lawsuit Activision made against Paramount/Viacom. I wonder how that got resolved in the end.

Too bad the Interplay re-releases stalled before they got to e.g. Klingon Academy.

Would be strange if they didn't. The expansion also added Jeri Ryan's voice to the game (someone else took her place in the original release).

They came to a agreement that allowed Activision to get out of the contract without any real penalties.

KHG was released by Microprose, so another licence to chase. Lol

I only got the old Prey and Half-Life codes to work, but Serious Sam, Deus Ex, all the old Tomb Raiders, Thief 1&2, CS:CZ, UT99, Unreal 1&2, Far Cry, Red Faction, Fallout 3, SWAT 3, Quake 4, Doom 3, Max Payne 2, TimeShift, Stalker, Turok 1&2, MS FSX, Bioshock, all don't work. I have all those on CD, but would have to buy them again on Steam.

I would love to see BOTF released or remastered. But I'll settle for Armada 1. LOVED playing that back in the day,

Does Star Trek: Legacy perform any better on newer hardware, given some of the criticisms when it was first released in 2006?

I'm so happy to see these games getting a digital release. This has made my day today. The only niggle is that some people are claiming that Starfleet Command III isn't working for them. The screen goes black and they can't interact with any menus, or they experience weird glitches during gameplay, like being unable to use the command panels properly.

I liked that game, but my main memory of it was the final mission where the Borg Cube got rammed by something accidentally and proceeded to fly off the map, like Team Rocket from Pokemon. I think it was a rushed game, but it was still pretty fun, I'd love to play it agian.
