Monday Puzzle #2: "I hope you're all taking notes..."

Yeah...

Oh, wait. Yes. Better get on with revealing the answer. Heh.

Well, you can't say I don't spoil you guys this week. :p There are a lot of clues in the opening preamble.

  • The type of school textbook was elementary, "My dear Ravescene"...
  • Earth, Wind & Fire and water jug... the only thing missing from the list of classical elements was Heart of course. :p
  • And of course the quote "I hope you're all taking notes***... because there's going to be a short quiz next period" as said by Tom Lehrer on a recording of his performance of his song, The Elements.

Yep, the key was to recognise the numbers as the atomic numbers of various elements of the Periodic Table, and then to match up their chemical symbols, which spell out:

42 11 27
Mo Na Co = Monaco

85 2 7 16
At He N S = Athens

52 1 88 7
Te H Ra N = Tehran

16 49 31 84 75
S In Ga Po Re = Singapore

67 102 71 71
Ho No Lu Lu = Honolulu

6 1 53 6 47 8
C H I C Ag O = Chicago

3 51 8 7
Li Sb O N = Lisbon

So there you go. Easy when you know how. :bolian:

There's no way I ever would have figured that out, but it is pretty cool. :bolian:

Your Codename E is a time travelling Romulan being chased by other time travelling Romulans. E is trying to send a warning out to Vulcan before it's too late.

When do I get my congratulations video from Leonard Nimoy?

Yeah, it's a good thing I was too busy to try, because that wasn't ever going to click for me.

I am learning plenty of clever cyphers with these things, though, which I'm sure will make me even more annoying to my friend than when I used D'ni numerals in all my notes.
