Monday Night Wars 2010 (Wrestling)

So, I had heard Bret Hart was coming back yesterday... to counter the live Hulk Hogan TNA show.

I know there were a few wrestling people here... did anyone catch either show? I watched RAW for the first time in years and it felt... I dunno, a bit underwhelming. Maybe if this happened years earlier, Hart and Michaels standing together in a ring again would amount to something... but with Hart out of action for the most part, all that happened was a random crotch shot at the end of the show.

Still, it's like the final chapter of 90s wrestling has been closed... looks like "You Screwed Bret" might finally be over.

:wah: i am so happy right now.

I know they will fail but boy at least I will be entertained for a little while.

We haven't seen the end of Hart. He's signed a four month contract that takes him through to... you guessed it... Wrestlemania.

Wow, what a crybaby. I'm sorry but this guy can go fuck himself. He sure has a head start given all the foul language he had in the 23 minutes. He's going on this rants, and he doesn't even talk about what HE WOULD DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. It's 23 minutes of him saying fuck and shit and all that stuff. Good lord I want those 23 minutes of my life back.:rolleyes:

FEB 1ST WILLIAM SHATNER GUEST HOSTS.

As for Monday Night "wars", WWE>TNA for LIFE. Screw TNA, they are just leaning on big names to get people to watch. I guarantee you that the young up and coming stars will be wasted while they make TV time for old WWE wrestlers. Lame.

WWE of course has their guest hosts but the hosts are barely on anyways so they go by the actual matches instead on 2 hous of Hogan.

Well, he offers ROH as the alternative to both shows - and really, I do see his point. This crap appeals to me because I grew up on the Monday Night wars (screw WCW!), but there are kids in the audience who weren't even born when the Montreal Screwjob happened.

I think DX is face right now? I don't know much about the product, but the old school Vince way to end it would be the screw Bret again somehow at Wrestlemania. But I guess he'd have a pretty good contract to prevent something like that happening.

DX are indeed faces right now. Bret will beat Vince in some sort of gimmick match, no doubt.

Yeah... seems like such a waste though - but, dude can't really wrestle nowadays so that makes sense.

I don't see the point in Brett coming back. If I was him I wouldn't have anything to do with the WWE.

The business has really gone down hill again.

This will never happen but I would love to see Brock Lesnar come back.

It's just closure. It'll all end with a match at Wrestlemania. What Michaels said is right - they can't let Montreal be the defining moment of either his or Bret's careers. They're both too good for that.

At this point Brock will be lucky if he manages to defend his UFC title.

I just hope they do Brett right.

I read Brock wasn't going to start training again until June...he will be lucky if he gets to do that.

WCW all the way. Before they started I didn't even watch wrestling. I liked it better during the regional days, before WWF took off. I definitely never liked the whole Attitude thing. That was the beginning of the end.

I haven't seen it, but apparently the TNA show was practically a late-90's WCW reunion. I would hope they plan to use all those old guys to elevate the younger wrestlers, but you never know with the inevitable clash of egos.

Was the TNA show PPV or on cable?

Personally, I miss the days when Raw was sleazy and ECW was crude and bloody. WWE is way to sanitized these days.

I think it has alot to do with Linda mcmahon running for senator in conneticut
and I doubt Brock will ever go back to pro wrestling, haven't heard anything about his recovery either, hope he gets well so he can lose to Fedor if the UFC can ever sign him

TNA does seem to be making all the mistakes that WCW made in 1999. Isn't there anyone else in the wrestling business beside Hogan, Nash, Russo that they think can run a wrestling company? It's like hiring Bernie Madoff to manage your portfolio.
