Yeah, I came here expecting the daily Trek box office update. I need my fix, dammit!
As for Transformers, yes, that is indeed huge, as most of us were expecting it to be, I think, regardless of the unfavorable reviews. I'll be interested to see if most moviegoers share the critics' opinion, and if so, whether or not bad word-of-mouth will start to have an effect on the film's performance at the box office.

I'm just glad people find TREK cool again and have made it a blockbuster. Even if UP, HARRY POTTER and one or two other movies this year beat it in domestic tallies it'll still be the highest grossing and most critically well-received film in the franchise's history.

Could someone use calculus and predict future takes on a numbered weekly basis.The graph seems to be fairly smooth.

you can use free tee chart or other graphing software which can integrate curves.
i am surprised no one knows about differential and integral calculus here.
you can even use and paper but nowadays free pc software can it too.
i urge you to encourage Chartman to do this.He could supply or work out an equation which would predict future box office.
the best way would be to use polynomial equations but you can use distribution curves too.
I don't know that anyone said they didn't know about differential and integral calculus. I had a course on it in high school and 9 college hours of the stuff - in fact it was my favorite math subject. But I'm not interested in running the calculations to graph a projection.
As Jeri said, I'd be happy to look at the graph if you want to do one. Boxofficemojo.com has all the daily grosses to date, that should be all the data you need.

But Chartman is more intimate with the data.He has studied it.He has kept track.He has experience with the data.He is also very intelligent and clever.I am sure he can do the calculus.
