Not bad. It will be interesting to see what kind of drop happens on Tuesday when many of IMAX theaters switch to Transformers.

It will probably have a bigger effect next weekend. I'm sure the IMAX aren't as large a factor mid-week as they are over the weekend since the showings have generally been 9 PM and midnight.

Yeah, the loss of IMAX showings is gonna hurt--.4 of the 5.5 million made this exceptional last weekend came from IMAX.

Still leaving 5.1 million, though. But I'm sure that number will drop quite a bit due to Transformers.

Maybe July 4th and bad WOM for TrII will help.

Well, I did my part, and went to see it one more time in IMAX last night. The theatre in my city was one of only 4 in all of Canada that was still showing Trek in IMAX as of yesterday -- today, there are only 2, and those have their last screenings in the evening. After that, Transformers takes over.

The theatre was only about 1/4 full (if that), but for a 9:40 pm Monday showing of a film that's been out for a month a half, I suppose that's not too bad. And hey, at least this time I managed to get a pretty good seat. :D

I was at a 10 PM showing at the local IMAX in downtown Montreal last night. A thinly populated theatre (ordinarily I quite enjoy that, as it means far less chance of being annoyed) but the entire cinema was thinly populated last night. But I did get a great seat.:techman:

Its still making TWICE what Terminator is...and that might be a first in TREK film history.

Terminator(1984) made $38,371,200, STIII made $76,471,046 in 1984...about twice the amount...

RAMA

True enough in the grander scale of things...but I specifically meant how much the new one had made compared to T4 so far. But yeah...you're right about the first movie.

Forgive Cooleddie74--he just can't contain his excitement about the movie...
