Moment in a film that made you gasp

Can you remember an event in a movie that actually made you gasp?

My most memorable moment, I think, was in The Pianist when the eponymous hero, nearly dead from malnutrition, plays Chopin's Ballade in G minor for the German officer who finds him hiding.

^That was indeed a great moment! I think I gasped, too.

Another one was 30 years ago when I first saw Alien in the theaters. When the creature burst out of the guy's chest, the entire audience screamed!

Another moment was the end of The Sixth Sense, when I realized that Bruce Willis had been dead all along.

^1) When the 'face-hugger' came out of the egg.

2) At the end of that I kind of went Wow, don't know why I didn't clue in as no one else seemed to see him in the move?? :o

Another was when Brody said "We're gonna need a bigger boat"

I don't think I've ever actually physically gasped at a movie, but I remember coming close when I saw the climax of Se7en.

Me (and the whole theatre) gasped when Martin Sheen flew off the side of the building in "The Departed". Those are the moments that make going to the movies most fun. :D

I think when Kevin Spacey stops limping as he walks down the street in The Usual Suspects. And the adrenalin needle in Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. My first view of the Imperial StarDestroyer in Star Wars, certainly. Walsh getting impaled-agreed.

Serenity... Wash
:)

And twice more later on when first Kaylee is shot in the neck, and later Simon gets it in the stomach. As after Wash I thought they were goners too

And when Sam Jackson showed up at the very end of Iron Man as Nick Fury. So cool

Well this isn't probably what you're going for, but during the South Park movie in which Mr. Garrison uttered words to the effect of "Hey I don't trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesn't die," the friend I was with, along with other audience members, primarily female I might add, all let out very audible gasps.

When Christian Bale took his shirt off and stood sideways in front of the mirror in "The Machinist."

How he didn't actually die from that, I'll never know.
